Use of East Midlands Rover

I intend to use an East Midlands Rover on a weekday where Restriction B3 which is

Outward Travel​

Not valid on trains timed to depart after 04:29 and before 09:00. Applies

If I want to catch a Train from Nottingham to Peterborough which departs Nottingham at 08.37,

Is the Rover ticket valid from the first stop after 9am if I buy a single to that point ?

(Trains origin is Sheffield if that makes any difference )

Yes, that’s perfectly fine. I’ve done similar in the past when I’ve wanted an early start.

Think the EMR train in question arrives Nottingham at 0832 before departing at 0837. First stop is then Grantham at 0909. An Anytime Day Single from Nottingham to Grantham would be £12.10, this before any applicable railcard discount is applied.

No different to any other rover ticket which have a "no use before X:YY rule", you have a ticket valid for Nottingham to Grantham switching over to the rover at Grantham. A greyer area would be if it was a none-stop split involving using a pre 9am train (i.e. boarding the 08:50 Lincoln service with a single to Lowdham (train scheduled to pass at 09:00)

I'm sure I did something similar back in 2016, buying an extra ticket from Beeston to Nottingham (or Derby) for a train departing before the rover was valid
