Afternoon,

Last Saturday I noticed two what appear to be MkIV coaches in Intercity livery (the new one on LNER at the moment)

THey seems to be near Tuxford Crossovers on the left hand side heading north.

Anyone have the numbers and the actual location of these coaches please?
Also why are they there ?

Thanks in advance,

EDIT:
Found this:
As of Friday 6th February 2026, Two Mark 4 coaches number 11412 & 11209 were purchased from Beacon Rail have been preserved by 225 Preservation
Is this correct ?

The tweet/X post below is from Intercity 225 Preservation Grouo, and it's shows that it is correct and they are now in possession of two coaches

Perhaps you've spotted us on site at Tuxford while we've been hard at work! Our first task was addressing a small leak on the roof of 11412. Now that's fully patched up, we've laid down carpet protectors to keep the floors in top condition. Beacon Rail allowed us to strip the other Coach Ms before they went for scrap. We recovered a wealth of components for our fleet - we have already put some to good use, swapping seat squabs so we have a good set in each coach, and refitting the smoking compartment doors.
Right now we are continuing ground work to bring three-phase mains to the site, which will soon enable us to keep our coaches powered on.

We'd like to once again thank everyone who has given their support so far to help us secure a future for these iconic trains

Are LNER withdrawing the remaining 225s? Or were these surplus from the set reductions to match 80x timings?

LNER 225s are here until the class 897 units arrive.

These 2 coaches will have been from surplus coaches.

Correct, those and the recently scrapped vehicles are from the downsizing of the fleet.

11209 is 11412's former number from before its Mallard refurbishment. The other coach at Tuxford is 11426. :)

The coaches have been shunted around the last few days in anticipation of some more arrivals/ developments.
