Not old, but it is unusual. One of the Clermont-Ferrand trams that uses the "Translor" system. The weight of the tram is born on road wheels, with the single, central, rail used for guidance and current return.

Thanks for the comments. For the record, here are a couple more pics of Glenelg trams from 2005 - taken at locations where they were not frequently photographed, but which (in my opinion) capture some of the quirks & character of the route before it was thoroughly modernised from the late-2000s onwards.
A single-car off-peak working at a typical example (Wayville) of a small suburban tram stop as it was before route modernisation.
A Glenelg-bound double set leaving the Goodwood Road stop and heading for the Goodwood Overpass, which takes the tram line over the Adelaide - Melbourne railway.
A mid-morning Glenelg service paused for a crew change at the Morphett Road tram stop, adjacent to Glengowrie Tram Depot.
An empty double set departs from Glengowrie depot, Adelaide-bound to form an afternoon peak-hour extra. An in-service Glenelg car is approaching in the distance, cautioned by tramway signals of the conflicting move.
Weekday peak-hour departures loading in Adelaide's Victoria Square terminus. The set on the right, marked EXPRESS, departed first, running non-stop from the edge of the CBD to Marion Road, about halfway along the route. The tram to the left departed soon after, making all stops. By this time (2005) this was the last remnant of express trams on the Glenelg line - in past years there had been multiple express services scheduled in both morning and afternoon rush hours.

Well, if we're talking of private hires in Prague, I might as well really show off! Motor car 349 from 1915, and late 1930s trailer car 1419 leaving the stop at Pražský hrad, having just dropped off our son's wedding party in 2014.

Let you into a small [?] secret --- some time later in April I'll be starting work on restoring a double deck tram [I haven't quite got the Album sorted out on my Ipernity, may get it done over the weekend if the weather fails to improve].

For snow operations, here's a Helsinki Snowplough (actually it's a SnowBroom) dealing with an overnight fall. It is fashioned out of a withdrawn 2-axle car. The large brush across the front can be angled as required, and is electrically rotated. That's a salt hopper on the back.

Another of the Manx Electric Railway's works cars is trailer 52, originally a passenger trailer dating from 1893.
Seen here during repairs to the overhead near Howstrake Camp a couple of days after the wires were brought down by car 6 in June 2015. I was in the trailer behind car 6 and the overhead made a hell of a thud when it hit the roof of the trailer.

In Frankfurt during summer weekends a 1940s or 50s tram and trailer runs a circular tourist tour around the city. It is called the Ebbelwei Express (Ebbelwei is the local dialect word for cider). The 8 Euro ticket includes a bottle of cider or fruit juice if you prefer and a snack. Each pair of seats has a wooden bottle holder and an opener on a chain. Prost!

By the rather American look of that house I assume it's the San Francisco cable car, and speculate that this is the aftermath of using the "brake of last resort" or some other incident where the mechanism has got stuck in the conduit.

You are quite close but not quite there
We were on a tram in normal service and heard the grip person radio to their control that the tram was not gripping the cable properly
When we got to the depot the tram stopped and some fitters came and changed the grip assembly ( took about 15 minutes) and then off we went again
I was particularly struck that this was done with no power assistance and with the pulley block that looked like it might also be 100 years old and by the manual ramp that the assembly was pushed up.
The assembly literally drops onto 2 pins and the whole process was a masterclass in simplicity
