Hi all, apologies if this has been covered before, I can't see a thread for it.

I've got an "Anytime Return" ticket booked online for northen England to Belfast via Cairnryan.
There are no reservations showing as booked for the ferry on the online booking engine, and my outbound journey is entirely by unreservable trains (I used Railfoums own booking site), however should I expect a separate voucher or a reservation card for the ferry when I collect from the machine at the station?

Thanks

When I did this a reservation coupon printed for the ferry (but I think that was just an artefact of the way that the ferries are loaded in the railways systems rather than anything more!). I just went to the Belfast ferry terminal about 90 minutes before departure and queued up at the counter and showed my actual ticket itself (didn't even get the reservation out) and they issued me a boarding pass there and then. No suggestion from the staff that I had done anything wrong.

Hi,
Last time I did a SailRail trip to Belfast (almost exactly a year ago) I think I had one ticket for the whole journey.
This was good for the train and the SailRail coach from Ayr to Cairnryan.
At the Stena checkin at Cairnryan they took the ticket and gave me the ferry boarding pass.

All nice and simple and with no fuss whatsoever.
I would recommend taking a printed (or at least a pdf on your phone) copy of the whole reservation though.
Have a good trip,
Mr Toad

There are no ferry coupons required for the Cairnryan to Belfast route (and v.v.).

Simply hand the rail ticket to the check-in agent and they will provide you with a boarding pass.

As you have a return, be sure to get the rail ticket back from them!
