BUTTERLEY MRC are advertising that on the 27 and 28 June 31210 will be there alongside 31108 both in the same colour scheme offering train rides so i would assume it will go back to Butterley after keighley. Do not know how it is getting there on a lorry or dragged there as there are only 2 locos noted as running at Butterley over that weekend.Ha just a little thing, but 3A25 is one of the the headcodes used be EMR to test/driver train their new 810s
Anyways, I have just seen that 55019 has now been removed from the roster for the GCR Diesel Gala (was expected), so DPS don’t expect it to be done in time, a shame but as said, was expected.

I have a question, obviously I am aware that 31210 will be going to Keighley and Worth Valley Railway for their diesel gala this week, leaving tomorrow (Monday) under schedule 0D10 to Butterly MRC where it joins onto a consist headed to the K&WVR (https://live.rail-record.co.uk/train.php/?c=R46354&d=2026-06-15), will it be returning to GCRN afterwards or will it be another loco for H&H in Burton Wetmore Sdgs, seen as they're the ones who coordinated this event and held it?
Yes I watched it last night, good to see there’s still decent progress happening. Presuming that all gathered from the reunification gala in a few months will be going towards this right? There is a new video update about the reunification project. This confirms the ground investigation is all correct and presents no problem. The latest environmental survey has been done again with no significant issues raised. The Factory Flyover and Urban Viaduct detailed specification and drawings are complete and paid for. Over £2.9M is in the bank with fundraising obviously ongoing.
The visit of Tornado and Flying Scotsman to the GCR(N) has gone very well and limited evening running has been approved.
Well done to all involved for what has been lots of hard work.

During our diesel railcar day on 17th July, it is your last opportunity to travel on ‘The Blue Set’ before it is withdrawn from traffic and it goes into retirement; don’t miss the chance to say your final goodbyes!
You can also be the first to welcome back ‘The Green Set’ as it returns to service, after an extended period out of traffic, following bodywork and mechanical repairs.

Vehicle 50266 is expected to be permanently retired with its future currently undetermined and its departure from GC to follow imminently afterwards. 50203 will be retained for future pairing with the trailer car (56342) which is currently undergoing restoration.
Judging off the Working timetable, the Saturday did have more planned services (I wasn’t there that day so don’t know how busy it felt), however I do think that GCRN had more services than last year with them running two trains instead of just the one.I went to the Reunification Gala on Sunday, and thought traffic was very light. Was Saturday any better?
Yeah some of the lads in Ruddington mentioned how the dry weather caused a Lineside fire risk, so they had to run the 20. I think that was just for the Sunday though. If you do want to see the kettle though they are starting to run a semi-regular service on Saturdays with the steamer over the coming months, can’t remember the dates though. The timetable for the GCRN advertised a combination of DMU and steam services, but in the end the non-dmu workings were class 20 hauled. Was this due to fire risk?
The Saturday was fairly quiet also. The GCRN had a couple of lineside fires which occurred during / courtesy of the 1400 steam round trip. The fire near East Leake at least needed the fire brigade to attend in a fairly awkward spot and the combination of fires brought an early finish to the train service at the GCRN.I went to the Reunification Gala on Sunday, and thought traffic was very light. Was Saturday any better? Last year's event was very well attended as I recall, but it was a novelty then. I suspect that this year's heatwave didn't help attendance either. However, I had a good time, and in view of the heat I was glad the trains and buses weren't as packed as last year.

The buses between Quorn and Ruscliffe ran via the MML station, so it was a pity that only the last two services were advertised as stopping there. In Sunday's weather conditions, it was a hot and sticky walk from Midland to Central stations. Likewise the buses ran past the bottom of the road leading to Loughborough Central, so a pity they couldn't also stop there, although perhaps understandable as there is not a bus stop there.
Modified bogies rather than the wagon itself, but yes.Is this container twin set on test?

Are these part of the plan to increase Intermodal running speeds to 90mph with the 93/99s (or something along them lines)?Modified bogies rather than the wagon itself, but yes.
ThanksModified bogies rather than the wagon itself, but yes.
Engine repairs and traction motor change. No idea about timings, but assume being done when UKLR can fit it in.Ah ok thanks, what’s it having work done to and how long will it be out (will it be back in time for the Diesel Gala in Sep)?
What we want to see again...The shareholders of Boscastle Locomotive Ltd received excellent news recently that there has been a full and final settlement of the insurance claim following the theft of parts three years ago. It is said that this will cover about 90% of the total cost of the 90 plus stolen parts (None were recovered). This claim has taken a huge amount of time to process and we are very grateful to the GCR and their Insurance Company for their support.
Our fundraising continues for the boiler completion and final assembly costs....but Boscastle's return to steam is getting closer!

So that you can avoid them?Does anyone know what services the Class 153s will be running?
Regarding this, had some info that the reason 50017 was removed isn’t because it wasn’t ready, but simply they couldn’t organise transport to get back to GCR in time for the gala.50017 has been removed from the roster for the Autumn Diesel gala, so evidently that's not quite ready just yet. Also the customer timetables have been released alongside the working timetables, some DMU services have been labelled with 101 50321/51427 running on Thursday the 3rd, Iris running Friday the 4th, however Saturday the 5th and Sunday the 6th still only label it as DMU, wonder if that means the 153s will be covering them. Here is the schedules for those who want a look: https://www.gcrailway.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/GCR_Timetables_A4_Autumn-Diesel_2026_RevB.pdf
