There is a fine nuance (probably overlooked by most) - singular verb when the body concerned is acting corporately or “as one”, plural verb when it’s clearly referring to a group of individuals. “Aston Villa boosts the local economy by xyz million” vs “Aston Villa are struggling to avoid relegation” (Sorry, your Royal Highness!)

I actually do think that there will be so much pressure now on FIFA, both internally and externally, that he will jump, before he is pushed, he has already had to bow to pressure, and his reelection odds must have slumped
