I am travelling on an off peak return ticket between Kettering and St Pancras on August 1st 2026. If train staff go on strike could I use my tickets to travel from Peterborough rather than Kettering? Thanks.

I'd recommend contacting LNER directly (assuming it's an LNER train Peterborough to London and vice versa) to see what they say.

The RMT union has announced strike action on Saturday 1 August, Saturday 8 August and Saturday 15 August 2026.

We are currently assessing the impact of this industrial action on our services. We'll publish any timetable changes as soon as they are confirmed.

Please continue to check the EMR website, information in stations and social media for the latest advice and information.

It is notable that EMR have published ticket acceptance information for their emergency timetable which can be found on their website. The emergency timetable arrangements are separate to any made in response to industrial action.

I have booked to travel from London to Loughborough on a late service now cancelled, so good luck to me I guess!
