Walthamstow - Victoria Line Suspended to Seven Sisters

Hi all.

Per the title, it seems as though we are seeing increasing incidences of the Victoria line going down between Walthamstow Ctl and Seven Sisters. It happened today- I was caught out just as the part- suspension of the line was announced, now it seems to have come back up, but is facing severe delays. Anyone know what's going on? Is this related to the points incidents a few weeks ago, signalling, or what? The same also happened around a week ago iirc.

(my job is at stake here!) (I check the status before I travel, then boom! tube suspended... and late for work)

The posts on 17 July were regarding a cracked rail crossing; today was a moveable point failure for a short time.
However much the signalling is automated, mechanical points failure will still occur.

The problem on Saturday was due to a person jumping in front of a train at Seven Sisters. (They didn’t die). Only problem now on that end is Highbury crossing speed restriction.

The initial post was made at 11.06 Saturday when there was a point failure at Walthamstow.
The person under train at Seven Sisters wasn’t until 13.45

As a daily (generally 6-7 days a week) user of the Victoria Line, I do agree with the OP that it seems that we've had more failures of late - although the track fault at Highbury isn't a reason I've seen come up recently. Maybe it's not the case but it does feel like it - it's certainly an impression a lot of us at work (non transport related sector) are mentioning.

Hopefully the track fault will be fixed soon - although it didn't create mayhem for me this morning and my journey essentially ran to time with perhaps a 2 min delay or so, I did exit Victoria as people were being held again due to a gap in the northbound service.

Hi- how were you know whether the person survived? I was there at the time and have been wondering. Thanks!

Many members of this forum are employed by train operators or their suppliers/providers, however it's generally unwise for individuals to divulge who their employer is and/or divulge too much information that may compronise their place of work, etc.

So they may not be able to say in any detail, but trust me you can be satisfied that what they say here will be true, if that helps your mind be at ease somewhat, after what must have been a very unpleasant experience.
