Can I ask. Did you apply this year and just sit the online tests 2 weeks ago? People I know that have applied the same time as me and got to the online tests have had emails saying they were unsuccessful. I haven’t heard anything yet.
I found out in may that I had passed the online tests, was just checking if people where getting emails to book the assessment centre. Got part 1 tomorrow for the assessment centre testing so will see how it goes!

Has anyone in the talent bank ever had a reply email from recruitment, outwith and not in relation to having an upcoming interview, test etc.
Nothing for me mate. I've sent an email or two since they invited us to ask questions, but I've not had anything back.

I'm coming up for 8 months since I received my final MMI pass email, and with courses now being filled up until Oct/Nov, it's not taking long to eat into the 2-year window to receive a course date before it expires.

Out of interest where did you hear that all courses are filled until November? I haven’t heard anything different but curious to know where that’s come from.

I’ve been waiting well over a year now. The wait is excruciating.

i feel the same its baffling that they are still doing assessment centre testing and we have a year left basically and then we have to start the process all over again putting us back to the end of the queue

That’s what keeps me going and makes me think that surely we’ll get a start eventually. It would literally be money down the drain for them to take us off the talent bank list after 2 years but keep recruiting other people into it.

Was through to DMI but was unsuccessful on that
I was under the impression you’d start from where you were last unsuccessful at.

I failed computer assessment September 2025 and got an email last week saying they are withdrawing my application from this year because it’s not been enough time since my last failed assessment, but gutted especially because it’s such a long process. I thought they would have just offered me a resit around the same time this year.

Could just be an easy way for them to cut down the numbers though, my application was for Yoker.

In the same boat having found out I'd passed everything early December, but didn't hear anymore until March telling me that I was in the talent bank. So about 8 months waiting ( Yoker )

Should we all be expecting to hear something early September given that the last contact we had was early March and we were told we’d hear every 6 months?

Hopefully they offer some sort of clarity at that stage instead of another generic email.

I really hope so, but I assume it will be fairly generic and not personalised whatsoever. I hope I'm wrong.

Someone I know works for them and mentioned this to me a few weeks ago. They said the October courses were filled and the November courses were being allocated/filled too.

You're right about the wait though and the lack of communication doesn't help any of us at all.

Recruitment emailed and because the process has changed I had to do all the new AON pre sift assessments if a pass them it would be then through to DMI again

I have completed the online tests which I was invited to do on the 6th of July. I finished them and still haven’t heard anything. I know of 2 people that applied the same time I did, and they have both sat the online tests and found out last week and the week before that they were unsuccessful. I applied for a specific depo as that’s what they were offering this time round.
1) is there anyone in my situation?
2) is there anyone that’s sat them the same time as me and heard back.
3) can any advise on the normal or estimated wait time to hear back about the online exams.
Cheers

Similar situation although my invite was only on 15th July, completed the tasks over a week ago, not heard anything back yet. Went back into the system to make sure I have completed everything and appears I have.

Unsuccessful emails always come out a couple of days after the assessment, if you’ve not heard anything yet I would take that as good news.

The further through the process you go, the longer you tend to wait from sitting the assessment till you get communication about it

I know someone who waited 8 weeks from completing the tests to then be told they were successful and the week later they were invited to the stage 1 assessment centre

Cheers mate. I have a mate who is already a train driver with ScotRail, but he can’t remember exactly how long things take apart from ….. a long time. I don’t mind waiting at all, but would be good to know a rough time frame. Thanks for your reply.

I was contacted with a start date on the 22nd of May and was booked in for a medical on the 28th. Around 7 months from passing DMI along with getting talent pool email

Just had the unsuccessful email for Bathgate talent pool after completing the Aon assessments. It's crazy because last year passed all the screening and passed stage 1 assessment centre but was unsuccessful at the DMI

Sorry to hear that.

I just got the email to say I met the required standard for Bathgate Talent Pool so looks like this has been done in a batch.

Hello all! Any ladies in here?

I attended a webinar in February about "Women in Scotrail". They were looking to recruit more female train drivers. At the end of the webinar, they said to look out for the vacancies and that they'd be posted online the following week. Well, I looked, and they didn't post any jobs.

Last week, while I was on holiday, I got an email -
"Hello Melanie,
You previously submitted a speculative application and expressed an interest in opportunities within the Edinburgh area.

We are currently reviewing our speculative applications and would like to confirm whether you remain interested in being considered for future Trainee Train Driver Talent Bank opportunities based at Edinburgh Waverley.

If you would like to remain on our Talent Bank and be considered for future opportunities, please reply to this email to confirm your interest"

Are there any other ladies out there who got the same email?

I'm now going through the AON tests :D
