Has anybody ever heard of the incident at the above when the glass roof inside the building exploded and fell onto people below?

No, but there was a similar issue at Newcastle Haymarket in the early 2000s. The metal roof framework flexed in hot weather and caused the glass roof panels to ‘explode’ under pressure.

Did a search, & the only references all i could find was the roof collapsed at the Audi car dealership in Milton Keynes, luckily no one was injured.

It was a very similar thing at MK. I was working there the day of the incident. Mrs Pitdiver had come pick me up, I was just getting my things together and bang. The wife who used to work with glass said that when the glass was fitted no allowance had been made for expansion or contraction. I won't go into any further details but there were many repercussions. As I understand it there was another incident when one of the glass panels in the side wall fell out.
The reference to the incident at the Audi showroom was noted.
