Hi all,

Looking for some advice regarding permitted routes.

Partner is travelling from Wimbledon - Stanstead Airport with a Rail Staff Leisure (Priv) rate Standard Day Single

Rail Staff Travel show an itinerary of Wimbledon - Vauxhall - Tottenham Hale - Stanstead Airport

She is traveling with family, and thdy are travelling Wimbledon - Victoria (via Wimbledon Pk) - Tottenham Hale - Stanstead as it is more convenient.

Is her ticket valid on this route?

A ticket with a maltese cross marker can be used to travel across London on London Underground, including interchanging at Wimbledon and Tottenham Hale according to the list of stations on NRE (under "Travel via London stations").

This journey won't show on journey planners, because there's no "fixed link" tube journeys in the timetable information from Wimbledon, so you're forced to take National Rail services.

I don't think you'd have an issue; it seems like a reasonable cross-London journey to me, even if it's significantly longer travel time!

Are leisure card privileges rate tickets valid on the Underground to Tottenham Hale?

It’s complex I think the situation is:- Travel Restrictions: The card cannot be used for free travel, commuting to work, or on most London Underground (LU) and DLR services. It is valid for privilege-rate tickets on the Elizabeth Line, London Overground, and free travel on Tramlink.

Another clause says:-

However, staff discounted (priv rate) tickets purchased with a Rail Staff Leisure Card may used on TfL services for National Rail Cross London journeys between London Terminals stations where the relevant Cross London indication is shown on the National Rail travel ticket.

So this may explain the itinerary that did not include an Underground leg

Yes, as part of a maltese cross journey, as you have stated later in your post.

No, it's simply impossible for any journey planner to provide an Underground leg from Wimbledon based on the state of RDG's timetable data.

That’s fine, I just wondered if an underground journey to Tottenham Hale counted as a journey between London Termini, as opposed to a journey between London Stations. As the staff travel conditions are not (worded) the same as public ones. I can see London Victoria to London Liverpool Street passes the literal description as a permitted Undergound journey between termini. But the underground journey Wimbledon and Tottenham Hale is it between London Termini.
