It could, but that's not the type of route we were talking about. We were talking about one from an area to a fixed point.

Ahh yes, i see your point. It probably wouldn't work well for something like that. This idea was more based on a many to one model rather than a one to many then to another model, which would prove a challenge to construct.

Yet more changes to Westlink coming July 27th (just received an email from them).

What's changing?

Expanded travel area: You can now use WESTlink to travel across the entire West of England & Bristol North areas provided your journey is no more than 8 miles (aerial distance). We have also expanded the service to Stockwood, west of Keynsham. Note there will be no changes to the North Somerset areas. End-to-end integrated transport journeys: WESTlink is now integrated with the wider public transport network. This means you can request journeys to destinations beyond the WESTlink operating area, including locations such as Bristol city centre, Bath city centre, and Weston-super-Mare. Where available, we’ll offer a combined journey plan that may include WESTlink together with local bus and/or rail services. To help you reach more destinations seamlessly, the WESTlink app will provide you with the option to book your WESTlink journey, and will show you the proposed bus route connection.

Also, fares are increasing.

• Updated fares: To support the expanded service and new journey options, WESTlink will now use a distance-based fare structure, so the amount you pay reflects the length of your journey:
  • 0 - 4 miles: £2.60
  • 4 - 8 miles: £3.00
  • Child fares remain unchanged

What I can't see is whether we can now ride from Bristol North to West of England Zones. As Winterbourne to Parkway was allowed (but Winterbourne to Parkway North wasn't) and they've not said there are new restrictions, I'm presuming that any journey across this boundary is now allowed, and the boundary really exists now only to account for different hours of service.
