I recently passed my OPC tests and MMI, and am now awaiting a date for my GTR DMI. How long did you have to wait to get booked in for yours?

Depends on the depot, I know this is thameslink but I got a DMI 6 weeks after my MMI and that was only because they had manager interviews taking place before then!I’ll need to be a bit more patient then, I only passed a couple of weeks ago!
I’ve applied for London Bridge/Victoria. How about you?
Would be life changing, so I’m giving it my all.
Yes recruitment will be in touch when interviews become available, yes life changing for me to only have a couple more days of preparation left before my interviewI’ll need to be a bit more patient then, I only passed a couple of weeks ago!

I do believe you get 3 attempts instead of 2 now, but unfortunately as their first attempt was before the rule change, they are still on the 2 attempts systemAs you've said you've already failed twice so I think you're out of the game but im not sure if when they changed the tests recently whether that reset anybody who had taken the tests before?
If so then you've only used 1 life but if your lives weren't reset then unfortunately you wont get anymore attempts.
Forget an appeal, it just wont happen im afraid.
Good afternoon!
I was invited to do first part of psychometric tests on 15 of May. On that day they said will do:
-Ishihara Colour vision;
-Group Bourdon dot test
-Tea Occ test
-Trp1b and Trp2
The past few days I prepared myself how much I could(doing tests daily using the official booklet they send me, prep materials from Railprep and even chatgpt to create more trp1b model tests with passages). For the group bourdon test I usually finish about 15 - 17 lines per sheet and on good days I did over 20 lines(multiple sheets). Tea Occ l used materials from RailPrep because they have an app there where I have to count the lower tones and also I printed a phone book where I was looking for information while counting tones. Trp2 I feel pretty confident as the materials I used had easy tests. My main concern is about Trp1b as I know myself I always was pretty sht about learning stuff and keep information in head.....how hard is trp1b? How big is the passage? How much time do I have to study the passage? And about the question…
If you fail to reach the enhanced level and also the standard level second time it negates the previous pass.Has anyone passed standard with one toc, and then gone for a foc, to try the enhanced? Can we do this or will it go against the pass standard
Personally I wouldn’t bother, when you actually do the test you have practice runs. When doing the practice run if you don’t put the ball in the end zone the test won’t finish so take the ball to the end but don’t cross the line and you can just go back and forth. so you can have multiple goes until your comfortable with itThanks
I googled and try to buy software and joystick but wasn't available, found one which outside UK,see if they post it to uk
There's software on How2Become that has a fairly similar feel to it, using that and a Xbox controller to get the feel for it is an option. Thanks

As mentioned previously, it’s not necessary to practice before hand. You get plenty of practice on the day, the joysticks at my assessment were very sensitive but I still managed to complete the task without going outside the test zone 10 times. Thanks

Well if you've already done the tests then they should be held on the national database so they can see what else you'd need to take.Hello,
I wanted to ask if anyone has ever had this before, so I have already passed both stages of OPC testing, Driver manager interview got my job and I haveva depot driver licence(very proud of that) I applied for a role as trainie driver for Avanti, this was only because I didn't want to wait for the 3 (average time) to get a chance to move from Shunter to main line driver,
I applied emailed avanti and was sent to OPC to sit an exam, possibly due to the fact that they have enhanced marks, which is understandable, when I arrived I showed the person my licence and informed them I am here for Avanti, he wasn’t sure how to assess me, and I was told if I failed it will change my pass to an automatic fail, this was my second attemp passing the train driver assessment I doubt they would give me a next one,
so long winded lol sorry, just wanted to know if anyone has any experience with this or insight or just tips as to go forward, as OPC told me they can't access record of ORR and are unaware of the restrictions I have on my licence
any help would be appreciated

I passed the stage two 10/09/26, but as I have a licence as a Depot driver, they weren't sure what would happen if I failed the test, but according to him I was setting to do all of part 2 again..Well if you've already done the tests then they should be held on the national database so they can see what else you'd need to take.
You should only have to take any additional tests avanti require.
Why cant opc access your record if you've taken it with them before?
How long ago was it?
this was what i assumed was the case, but the person at OPC was unsure as what test I should take, in all honesty I tried to email them but no reply (Avanti)I went from depot driver to mainline and was within the 5 year validity of the psychometric assessment. The TOC I joined only required that I complete an additional fault finding test, they accepted my enhanced pass I acheived for the depot driver position.

lol my aplogise is passed 10/09/25 I did an MMI i.didn't do a CBI- When did you pass your original psychometrics to become a depot driver?
- how many times have you sat your psychometric tests?
You’ve wrote you passed your stage 2 10/09/26. you’ve wrote the date wrong unless you’ve came from the future.
If it has been 5 years since you passed your psychometric tests then they won’t be valid anymore even if you are a depot driver now (for most companies)
Some TOCs consider psychometric tests expired after 3 years and will ask you to do them again.
With Avanti they have a CBI rather than an MMI after you have sat the computer tests and paper tests, so if you don’t pass that then it’s classed as a fail.
You’ll have one more chance then to do your psychometrics. If you fail then you won’t be able to go mainline as you would have failed twice.lol my aplogise is passed 10/09/25 I did an MMI i.didn't do a CBI
I have sat the testing twice i passe on my second attempt and became a depot driver
that is correct they didn't know what to assess me on hence why he and myself weren't sure i should go through it,You’ll have one more chance then to do your psychometrics. If you fail then you won’t be able to go mainline as you would have failed twice.
You’ll still be able to keep your depot driver role.
So you turned up to the Psychometric testing day for Avanti but didn’t go ahead with the tests as you believed you have passed them and the person on the day didn’t know what tests to give you?
Regarding your ‘depot driver licence’
I’m not sure what TOC you work for you but do you drive on the mainline aswell as the depot as a depot driver?
In my eyes and from what I’ve read (I’m a depot driver) if you only drive on a depot, that license that you hold means nothing to anyone other than yourself and your TOC. Its not transferable to anywhere despite you driving trains that mainline drivers drive. For majority of depot drivers in the UK it’s just a piece of paper laminated with the stock you sign.
Someone will be able to correct me if it’s different somewhere. I believe East Mids have depot drivers who take trains on to the mainline as they have to take trains into the station therefore they have mainline licences (could be getting it mixed up)
