Cross Country - Qualified Positions (Various)

Hello all,

XC are currently advertising for Qualified positions for various locations, I am aware some have been advertised longer than others so is anyone able to assist in the following please...


Once applied XC state they will then send information in ref to Safety of the Line forms, has anyone received theirs or is it the next stage of the process. I have had my application in for about 6 days and nothing has come back.

In all there adverts it states 3 years in a current post but mentions is on two occasions...I assume this is aimed at former trainees in their PQA (TOC Dependant) and not for those who may of moved TOCs in the last 3 years?

I have not known XC to advertise for multiple positions (Qualified) at the same time, Is this a mass recruitment drive some have mentioned along with trainees or possibly a coincidence that a hand full of depots need 1 or 2 drivers all at the same time.

and finally, can anyone shed any light on the recruitment process for Qualified drivers in terms of stages, I assume sift, SOL forms, Interview (Standard inc rules) then medical.

Hi. Are there any Newcastle drivers able to share some insight about the depot?

Shift pattern/ Link structure, earliest book on/latest book off, average diagram content, spare movements , how often nights come around? RDW, Sundays inside/outside?

Generally speaking, good depot to be working at? (obviously different opinions are welcome!)

I know that's a lot of info to ask for, but any light anyone could please shed would be very welcome....

Deadline to send in SOL info was 5th July. Anybody heard anything since?

As mentioned earlier in this thread, multiple vacancies were advertised for a number of depots - wonder if anyone has been offered interviews at either locations and if there was any specific timeline you experienced between submitting your SOL form to then hearing anything back

Is this what’s expected with XC recruitment or is the lack of contact generally down to being unsuccessful as I’m lead to believe no news generally means thanks but no thanks.

SOL forms were submitted 4 weeks ago

Closing date was 7 weeks ago

Did anyone ever hear anything after submitting SOL forms? It still says application pending on the careers login, but it’s been ages since submission so I’m thinking it’s a no.

Anyone who’s applied for the above vacancies able to shed any light on if the interviews were offered and if so how long did you wait.

I’ve heard some depots have waited months with no word
