The other day I travelled from Cardiff to Shrewsbury with tickets split at Cwmbran.
When the conductor was checking tickets after leaving Cardiff, I presented my Cardiff to Cwmbran ticket which he duly scanned.
The question is, should I have also presented my Cwmbran to Shrewsbury ticket at the same time? Or, as I did, waited until after leaving Cwmbran before offering it for inspection? In fact, I was not asked for it, the conductor presumably not having flagged me as boarding at Cwmbran.
Would your advice differ if it was a more complex journey with split tickets, perhaps involving change(es) of train and TOC en-route?
Thanks in advance.
