Hello everyone...

Looking at West Byfleet to Feltham on a Sunday and the forum ticket site offers a Sunday Out Single as the cheapest fare which it the associated times offered are train to woking then rail air bus to T5 and then bus to Feltham
Does anyone have any experience of using this sort of ticket on the Railair bus - is it definitely valid?

Sorry if this is a daft question but it is cheaper than buying the railair bus on its own...

Hi @RailAirUser - have you got a specific search link that gives a RailAir coach within the results? I'm struggling to reproduce the issue currently.

Ignoring the fact that any engineering works might get in the way if all running to a normal Sunday it's quicker to get the train direct via Virginia Water. 34 mins. And for the same Sunday single ticket.

Removing split ticketing from the search results in a much quicker journey time.

I appreciate that but I would prefer to use this on the Rail Air bus if it is actually valid... it isn't about the journey time ;)

This has been a known issue for quite a long time (and it isn't unique to the forum site). There's a long thread with with Rail Delivery Group trying to get the data fixed, but it's a bit complicated so has been taking a while - there's no easy mechanism to prevent this being valid aside from banning the Heathrow Bus locations from normal route codes, and using special Via Rail Air route codes for the actual Heathrow Bus fares (similar has been done with the hovercraft to the Isle of Wight).

Technically, the NRCoT says that if you buy it from a retailer/NRE against an itinerary then it has to be valid, but I can guarantee you'll have a nightmare on the buses and will probably have to pay again.
