Mold to Ellesmere Port 5 no longer exists sadly. It's now F5 from Mold to Queensferry then 101A from Deeside Industrial Estate to Ellesmere Port. I think it may get too tight to add this into the map properly given the amount of other buses in this area which link between the towns.

Wrexham to Rhyl 51/X51 is now T51 TrawsCymru but operated by Arriva.

Depending on space, there is the Lewis Y Llan 61 which runs about 5 times per day from Amlwch to Holyhead.

Chester to Warrington X30 should show as serving Runcorn.

Arriva 375/385 Southport to Wigan should be a bigger line as these run every 20 minutes.

I hope this helps.

Think that disappeared quietly

Probably said in past but what did you use to make the map?
I found it a most useful thing, when in an area you do not know having a Bus Number that will do the journey you need makes searching the net for a bus so much easier. A big loss was the ‘Transport Direct’ site that was deleted as it was thought other systems would be suitable, sorry they are not. Neither

As ever, please point out any errors or omissions - the gap means there's been quite a long time for me to miss things.
A very new change, but one that might be worth noting - the 682 (Go North East) which runs three times per day will extend to Otterburn (on the current X74 route) from next week onwards. There aren't a huge number of good connection opportunities, but there will be some, so it might be worth including Otterburn as a point on the map? At the same time, the AD122 will be renumbered to the 122 but will continue its current route from Hexham via the Military Road to Haltwhistle and then Greenhead/Walltown.

Other than that, the North East looks good given the limited space to work with. It is a slight shame the X30 can't be included - this now runs hourly off peak and is by a considerable margin the fastest route between Newcastle and Blyth - but it would probably be difficult to add an extra line in a cramped part of the map. Another slight tweak might be to add the (relatively new) HW1 - it's an hourly service which connects with the 122 terminus at Greenhead/Walltown then runs to Brampton and via a more northerly route to Carlisle than the 685. The area in question is relatively empty so there should be space (especially if you can move Newcastleton up a little bit).

Adobe Illustrator - an institutional subscription, no way I'd pay that price tag myself. I have tried Inkscape as a free alternative in the past, but couldn't really get my head round it.

X10A Glasgow - Stirling via Aberfoyle is missing.
Thanks, all fixed - including that Blyth X30 which I could just about thread in. Have left the F5/101A off for now, but will be revisiting Merseyside for franchising.

A few detail points in Scotland - 120/121 at North Berwick should be coloured for Lothian (run by East Coast Buses); 520 in Dumfries & Galloway no longer reaches Dalmellington at all - terminates at Carsphairn; 246 only gets to New Cumnock these days, does not operate to Cumnock.

A couple of changes/additions around Teesside:

Arriva 28 runs (hourly) from Middlesbrough to Guisborough and then on to Redcar, replacing the old 81 on that section
Arriva 5 runs (half-hourly) from Middlesbrough to Guisborough and then on to Loftus, which is also on the X4 route between Saltburn and Whitby

(The 28 follows a different route between Middlesbrough and Guisborough from the 5 and X93, but in the context of an interurban map I don't think that matters)

Keep up the good work!

The 17 from St.Neots to St.Ives has been cut, Combined Mayor not happy to continue subsidy as ridership so low. Shame as ut was a really useful way to get to St.Ives.

Borders Buses 266 between Wooler & Berwick no longer operates. It's just the 267 & 464 between Wooler and Berwick now.

The 308 from Sevenoaks to Gravesend has been extended to Bluewater, and is now operated by Go-Ahead.

Thanks, all fixed - although couldn't fit on the 308 to Bluewater, and so infrequent compared to the B it doesn't feel needed.

Thanks, that is a shame. CPCA's approach does leave something to be desired compared to other authorities pursuing franchising.

Does the 1X count for your criteria maybe? Southend - Canvey, 2bph generally. I know Canvey isn't the biggest place though.

Not sure if it's worth adding as its infrequent (around ever 3 hours) but it's a coach service you could add potentially operated by whippets (X1) between Cambridge and Peterborough

Service E17 appears to be missing from the intercity map. It is merely an Ember duplicate of Stagecoach East Scotland's X7 + extended to Perth. Runs approximately hourly.

D&E also duplicates the 961 twice a day as their own commercial service 61 which also stops in Dingwall.

Some additions to the North Highlands, Service 809 runs from Ullapool to Achmelvich twice daily, with one journey continuing to Drumbeg, and ditto frequency for service 811 which runs from Ullapool to Badenscallie

Service 805 runs from Durness to Inverness once a day, but passengers from Inverness can't go to Durness and back on the same day.

Service 702 runs four times a day from Strathcarron to Lochcarron, with two journeys extending to Annat.

In the Inner Hebrides, I noticed Islay's bus services are missing, both 450 and 451 run at least 6 times a day, however their timetables route-wise are sporadic, maybe better looking at the operator: https://bustimes.org/operators/islay-coaches

All routes mentioned apart from E17 are local independents.

Previously haven't considered it big enough but the area round Southend does look quite sparse, might look to add a few routes there at some point.

Good shout, added.

E17 was on there but unlabelled, have fixed that now. Thanks for those Highlands ones - in the main they aren't frequent enough to make the cut (minimum 3/day), or seem a bit more local than interurban. Added the Islay ones though, thanks.

X1 does stop in huntington though as it's first stop and only stop between cambridge and Peterborough not show by your map

If we're adding the islands, should orkney feature as they have a few I think which run hourly. Only one I can think of without looking on bustimes is the x1

== Doublepost prevention - post automatically merged: ==

In fact after looking, its half hourly in some sections

== Doublepost prevention - post automatically merged: ==

The 2 is about every 2 hrs
The 4 is every half 1h
The 9 is every 1h

A few changes from the South-East corner:

- 477 - this is run partly by Go-Ahead and partly by GoCoach, an independent. Is there any way you could show it as a hatched/stripey line? The two services are theoretically separate, but ticket acceptance is arranged.
- There are some changes to the Fastrack network (A & B, currently an E that looks like it will become a C) from 1st August.
- 7 between Maidstone and TW now runs every 20 minutes off-peak. (Possibly not matching your conditions, as it drops again about 3pm for schools)
- 36 between Herne Bay and Margate changes operator to YMS (independent) from end of August.
- Is it possible to add Cranbrook as a town where the 5 and 297 cross?
- 1066 is now less than hourly.

Hope that helps!

Yes I did mention this, however 477 go-ahead goes to orpington shown on map, go coach only goes as far as swanley which isn't on the map mabey due to its size which may be why he hasn't made it stripey as he did change the colour from arrive to go ahead.
Dartford to orpington isn't right colour as its goahead not arriva and a independent also uses the same number and jointly operates on some not all of the same route too

== Doublepost prevention - post automatically merged: ==

Lancaster to morecambe between the 83 and 85 longsdale coaches potentially makes this a striped stagecoach and independent line

== Doublepost prevention - post automatically merged: ==

Also spelt morecambe wrong

== Doublepost prevention - post automatically merged: ==

Between aylesbury and Hemel hampstead mabey add x500, 500 not just 500

== Doublepost prevention - post automatically merged: ==

Between luton and Dunstable, currently just arriva. Make it striped as you have centrebus group (B and E), arriva which is already on, then independent (C, CX, HI, and Jo). Don't know if you can make a 3 way stripe but ye

== Doublepost prevention - post automatically merged: ==

Although infrequent could add centrebus 19 Nottingham Melton mowbray

== Doublepost prevention - post automatically merged: ==

90 between Nottingham and Newark needs changing colour from wellglade group to municipal

== Doublepost prevention - post automatically merged: ==

Could add 38 to the 37 between Newark and retford

== Doublepost prevention - post automatically merged: ==

28 between Grantham and Stamford is centrebus group so needs to be striped and potentially between Stamford and Peterborough has also the 27 centrebus group so could be striped however it isn't as frequent as the 201

The 300 Southport and Liverpool takes a completely separate route to the X2 and 47.
The 300 shares the Liverpool end of the route with the 310 as far as Maghull.

The 508 (Summer Only) Penrith to Windermere runs Penrith - Patterdale - Windermere.
The Penrith - Patterdale section is all year.
The Patterdale - Windermere section is Summer Only.

X4 and X5 Penrith to Workington.
X5 goes west side of Bassenthwaite when entering and leaving Keswick from the west.
X4 goes east side of Bassenthwaite when entering and leaving Keswick from the west and shares the 554 route from Keswick as far as Castle Inn.

Lockerbie to Carlisle 382 runs a few times per day onto Carlisle if that helps.
Shrewsbury to Whitchurch should be 511 and 512 as the two routes combine to make the hourly timetable.
Workington to Silloth has the Stagecoach 60 running a few times per day.
Morecambe to Kendal has the Stagecoach 755 which runs a few times per day.

Orkney may get an inset in the future, for now it's not included on the main map to keep the proportions to A-series paper.

Thanks, fixed most of those - don't think the Fastrack changes affect the depiction on the map?

Thanks for those, fixed several. Some cases (Lancaster, Luton), non-striped lines are deliberate as one operator is much less frequent than another. Reasoning on 477 is correct, the go-coach one doesn't make the cut.

Thanks - the size of the map means it's at a fairly low level of details so I don't show different routes between towns, this would congest the map far too much. Similarly the nuance of the summer/winter 508 is quite hard to get, and it's the connections between towns that I'm trying to show with the map.

There's lots of intercity coach routes serve Edinburgh Airport. Is there something special about the 787? I can see they'd be tricky to add (except perhaps the E19 every 20 minutes from Livingston).

Up near Edinburgh, the 120 and 121 are now run be East Coast Buses so should be municipal purple rather than orange (presumably ex-Eve?)

The Warrington-Northwich link is hourly if you include the 9A alongside the 9 - I know it bifurcates slightly but there are no other locations shown between.

Thanks for mentioning this additional Warrington Transport service.
Would it also be possible to add another couple of interurban services run by this municipal operator?
5A/5B Warrington to Sale (an intermediate town between Altrincham and Manchester on TfGM route 263), which would need to be added to the map - the service is hourly Mon-Sat (2 hourly Sun)
62 Warrington to Runcorn - hourly Mon-Sat
