"FAO train crew" message on journeycheck

During yesterday's signalling failures at York, I saw something I've never seen before. Under the "Significant Disruption" section at journeycheck.com/northernrail there was a message labelled "FAO train crew", asking any crew who were on trains impacted by the problems and who weren't currently stopped at a platform to contact the control centre asap.

I was obviously a bit surprised to see an internal message to train crew displayed on a public website.

Can anyone shed light on how/why this happens? Was the failure at York so catastrophic that it took out the ability to communicate with the trains directly?

JourneyCheck is also used for internal messages (as Tyrell/Arrakis).

With everything going on yesterday somebody probably just picked the wrong option which made the message public.

I suspect that it was more likely that the relevant controls lost oversight of the location of trains, rather than a loss of ability to communicate.

Staff hiding with their phones switched off and nowhere to be found*. Not uncommon to hear announcements during disruption at Paddington along the lines of, “Can any GWR or HSS driver make themselves known to Control” or “Can Driver Andy Smith please make themselves known to Control”.

*Of course this is tongue in cheek and no driver would ever shy away from doing any work, in fact they’re all fighting to drive the very few trains that are running

Yes similar at Victoria. Often highly specific "Can the driver of 1C17 please make their way to their train on Platform 17"

I've occasionally seen messages on EMR's service updates under 'further information' for an update such as 'accessible toilet facilities not available in standard class' followed by 'unit 222009 coach A toilet fault' or something along those lines (can't quite remember) - think this was previously reported on here to be a similar thing that this was supposed to be internal but the wrong option selected.
