My daughter and friend (both 15) are going to Bruno Mars at Wembley on the 18th July. She's going to get the train from Oxford Parkway to Wembley Stadium on the way in.

In terms of getting home, the same route won't work, so we're gonna drive in and pick them up. I had suggested that they get the tube to Hillingdon, with the last Met tube leaving Wembley at 00:52, that seems like lots of time (Wembley has a 22:45 end of show for the 2300 curfew). The friend's parent has said "it's a nightmare" (even though they haven't done it themselves) - of course it will be busy, and there will be crowd control for the tube... what alternatives are there here to try to make things easier?

Any alternative tube stations to take them somewhere convenient for me to meet them? or alternative approaches here? We'll need to drive back to Oxford afterwards.

Is there a particular difference / concern over the return journey by train, heading north?

They would certainly be able to get back north to at least Bicester or Haddenham after the concerts by making sire they join the correct queue at Wembley Stadium station.

That's a good point - I didn't know how ridiculously busy Wembley Stadium station would be afterwards though (with less of a service than the tube).

Princes Risborough is an option as many of the late trains north are going to Aylesbury

Yes to all of the above.
Wembley events are always cleared by the last train, heading back north, unless something major has occurred. But something major occurring is par for the course for the railway anyway, and is usually dealt with one way or the other. They will get back north.
You just need to decided on suitable location.

Noting one train only to Oxford, so would suggest Bicester North as initial goal being closer to home, if one doesn't want to risk getting into Oxford.

I forget motorway convenience, but High Wycombe as mentioned should see every northbound service going that way call there, thus that queue can move faster.
Not sure how 'accessible' Princess Risborough is.
Haddenham is ofcourse in Oxfordshire, so could have better access for you.

Have a look at the timetable.
There is if course no guarantee what train they could board as it is a queuing system in place at Wembley post concert.

*Haddenham is in fact in Bucks, close to Oxfordshire. (No discontent intended).

The information, here: https://www.chilternrailways.co.uk/wembley-events-travel-information

May also be useful. Noting that it is for this weekend, not next.
The Saturdays tend to be the same, with the exception here for the 11th (only) being the engineering works at Oxford.

You can, though, infact see all the trains for the 18th in journey planners.

Take note of the queuing system on the night and the pre arranged pick up point, and all should be well.

Bicester is just as easy for us, and with two trains after 2320, so that looks great. A Bicester Village/North - Wembley Stad. return with a single from Oxford Parkway to Bic Village is a good combination from the looks.

Thanks for all the help!
