[Trivia] stations where two lines converge on a single station and then both branch off eachother towards different directions.

Chester is like this, taking into account that both Merseyrail and the Mid Cheshire line terminate there- the remaining lines come from two Easterly directions (from Warrington or from Crewe) and head on two Westerley directions (Shrewsbury or Holyhead). Actual services are more complicated.

Carlisle (WCML to Carstairs on the Caledonian and Seattle-Carlisle to GSWR and Waverley Route) was also like this.

Before the Carlisle line swapped banks of the Tyne about 40 years ago, Newcastle would have qualified.

Is what you’re describing a junction station where there are two routes both in and out? If so Llandudno Junction would qualify - the lines from Chester and Blaenau Ffestiniog converge on the east side and then on the west they diverge towards Llandudno and Holyhead.

Lewes - Seaford and Eastbourne branches, and then Brighton and London branches.

They are technically split at the point of the station as the London and Brighton platforms are seperate.

On non-Network Rail railways, it's trivially true on most tube cross platform interchanges- Oxford Circus, Finsbury Park, Mile End etc. More interesting versions at Camden Town (both southern branches run trains to both northern branches) and post-Battersea Power Station branch Kennington (Charing cross branch can terminate via circular loop or run trains to either line, City branch trains continue to Morden). Earls Court on the district line is another good example.

In Manchester, Victoria metrolink station is like that- trains come from two southern branches, and diverge to two northern ones.

Westbury - towards Trowbridge or Pewsey northbound, and Frome or Warminster southbound

Exeter St Davids is another - Taunton or Crediton eastbound and Exeter Central or Exeter St Thomas westbound (although the former curves around)

Cardiff Central, Newport and Reading are other examples.

It would help if you refine your definition.

I think you mean line A and line B approach a station. Do not join before it do not cross over and then continue on their merry way. So at Clapham the line to the North and the line to the South continue North and south.

If this is your requirement, places such as Guildford fail the test, for two reasons. Trains from Reading to the North downs cross over the main line. The lines leave Guildford to the South as one line and then split.

Cardiff queen street? Comes in from bay and central, to go onto rhymney, merthyr ans heath low level - admittedly on 2 junctions
