(I wondered about putting this in Disputes and Prosecutions, but it's not (yet) an actual dispute, and probably not worth making one -- I'm just seeking clarification).
On 17th June I received an e-mail notification that my Network Railcard was due for renewal; the actual expiry date is 15th July. As I'm using it fairly often these days, and not infrequently starting journeys at a station without an open ticket office, I thought I'd better renew it while I remembered, so on 20th June I clicked on the 'Renew' link in the e-mail and ordered a new railcard. It arrived in the post a few days ago; today I took it out of the envelope to put it in my railcard wallet, and noticed that the expiry date is 27th June 2027, not 15th July as I had expected?
Does anyone know whether this is a) an error on their part, b) an error on my part (perhaps I missed something when doing the renewal), c) the way it's always been, or d) a change in policy? It's not the first time that I've renewed a railcard online in this way, and if I've lost any days of validity in previous years, I haven't noticed. I know it's less than £2 worth, but if it's a change in policy it seems a bit sneaky, and if it's an error by the railway, they have been known to prosecute people for less than that.
