A deleted scene from Shaun of the Dead features a Tube Station being closed, Hot Fuzz had a scene at Denham Golf Club Station, The World's End at High Wycombe.
The theme tune to Bottom features a tube train, assuming it was a 1973 stock as it was a deep level train and Bottom was set in Hammersmith. An episode of Peep Show features a Chiltern Railways train at London Marylebone. Also looking further away from London, Trainspotting features Corrour Station and Millions features Liverpool Lime Street and Bury Bolton Street. There's probably plenty more but they're just off the top of my head and that is also not to mention Music Videos which plenty old and new feature trains and stations.

Fools a lot of people this including the stock, it did me at first.

Actually I've just this minute seen the relevant episode on channel 60 ( Drana +1 ) and I think you were right the first time... the scene in question is in fact backlit.
I'd never noticed that before...!!
You can hear the station announcer as well, "Rugby, Leicester and Nottingham."

I think that the announcer says (twice), ‘The 7.55 Express leaving Platform 13 will stop at Rugby, Leicester. Nottingham and Sheffield’.
I can’t hear any reference to ‘Down Continental’, but I am using a cheap DVD player. If it is there it is possible that the filming was done without sound and the background sounds were dubbed on later, in which case they could have used a recording, possibly a library one (*), recorded elsewhere.
As far as I am aware Marylebone never has had a Platform 13, just 1 to 4 at the time.
* - Wouldn’t a library recording be people going, ‘Shush.’
Shots of a Class Five running into Marylebone, the crew supposedly blind, in the 1963 version of a “Day of the Triffids”. The footage had been speeded-up to give the impression of a high speed buffer stop collision (off camera).

Just watching A land of ice cream on You tube. Starts with boarding a train at Swansea. Not really following the plot but love the old rolling stock.

As far as I am aware there were no boat trains from Marylebone either.
That whole thing is from long term recall so idk.

So using this system the badly-exposited electrichka from Citizen X would be either * or ** depending on whether the aforementioned citizen is seen exiting the train or nor; I'd rate it as** because his use of it is a major plot point in detecting him.

Train used by a character or in an action scene , i.e. the class 55 hauled east coast express from the beginning of Get Carter, the TGV chased into the Channel Tunnel by a helicopter in Mission Impossible or the subway train somehow stopped by a motorcycle in Batwoman.
Train used a lot by a main character or for a long time; I.e. Train to the End of the World where the characters use the train to travel from place to place; The Texas from The General which is used to give chase to the titular (stolen) locomotive, which is itself used on the return journey.
The Train is the setting for the large part of the movie; Murder on the Orient Express, The Lady Vanishes or Snowpiercer

Just been watching "Password is Courage" starring Dirk Bogarde as Sergeant Major Charles Coward with supporting cast including Nigel Stock and Ed Deveraux.
This is a dramatised retelling of the experiences of Battery Serheant Major Charles Coward as a PoW and his escape attempts.
The film is currently on BBC iPlayer (you will need to search for it ) in the opening credits British Railwasy London Midland Region and Southern Region are acknowledged.
Virtually all railway scenes are filmed in UK though a couple appear to use continental stock shots.
Growing up in the 60s and 70s I must have watched many WWII films with my parents who were teenagers during WWII but this one was new to me.

"On the Railway" (1960) - a North Korean movie set during the Korean War, it follows a North Korean train driver who is arrested by American and South Korean forces. He pretends to cooperate and work for the enemy to save a prized communist locomotive, acting as a double agent to outwit them and aid the resistance
I recently watched a Tom Hardy movie ‘Havoc’ and the final scenes take place in what is supposed to be a large USA railway yard. Apparently the scenes were actually filmed in Wales, at Port Talbot close to the steelworks.

For added realism....the steelworks yard in Port Talbot has a large number of American-built diesel-electric heavy switchers (shunting locomotives).

I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but I have to report this:
Today for some reason I searched for and found the first episode of "World at War" - the famous (?) 1973 TV documentary series (Oh, what quality there used to be on GB television).
The series starts off with Hitler's rise to power here
And at approx 23.35 there is a shot of a new Autobahn with the totally unexpected appearance of what looks like a DR Class 61 streamlined, high-speed 4-6-4T on a double-deck train.
Sorry if it's been mentioned up-thread.

I am wondering if that is actually a Lübeck-Büchener Eisenbahn 2-4-2T, later BR 60. It is obviously a staged shot, so it doesn’t have to be in the type’s home ground.

Very fine series indeed - randon railway shots sprinkled throughout - British Expedition Army force leaving Waterloo , Normandy landings has a tantalising shot of French narrow gauge at Luc-Sur-Mer etc

A second in two consecutive days!
A friend sent me this footie link today, celebrating Swindon Town in 1963.
In the first minute I think we have the entrance to Swindon Works at 17 secs, and around 40 secs, we have "Swindon" the Castle and in the works County 1023 being overhauled, along with three Class 52s in the erecting shop.
Must say, I was kind of surprised they'd be overhauling a County as late as 63. Even though they were 2-cylinder locos, I thought BR(W) seemed to want rid of them quite quickly. I remember two being dumped at Didcot in Spring 64. (I think Castles outlasted them, didn't they?)

It’s old footage (pre 1963). Both locos, 7037 Swindon and 1023 County of Oxford, were withdrawn in March 1963.

I distinctly remember that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story used large portions of Canary Wharf for a few of the internal shots of the Imperial Security Complex. For some reason, all but about 2 seconds of it ended up not even being used for the final cut.
I strongly suspect there's a Director's Cut or Deleted Scenes special out there with this part in better detail.

The final cut was the result of substantial rewrites and reshoots.

The episode of Last Of The Summer Wine "Last Post and Pigeon" (incidentally the last episode filmed before the death of Bill Owen though not the last episode with a scene filmed by him) features Compo, Truely and Clegg on a motorbike and sidecar over a part of the abandoned railway line just outside Bray-Dunes in France... Owen was, by then, seriously ill and would indeed die just a few days after filming was completed for that episode
