Luggage trolleys still at Paddington?

Hi everyone,
I'm planning a work-related trip in a week or so's time, and will be returning into Paddington with a lot of equipment. Does anyone know whether there are still passenger-usable luggage trolleys at Paddington and, if so, where these to be found?

We will have help to load the equipment the other end, and it's a direct service into Paddington, so the only pinch point will be getting the stuff from the train and into a taxi back to the office. Two of us will be travelling so I'm envisioning one could stay on the platform with the kit and the other could go off and collect a trolley, assuming there is one to be collected.

Searched in vain the time before last for one for my heavy weekend bag, there were racks on ?P6 but they were empty. Have now dug the folding luggage trolley thing out from the attic.

I think that I have seen some, but there aren't many of them, and they aren't easy to find! I think that I've seen them "abandoned" on the platforms, although the NRE plan for the station doesn't show that there are any there.

It might be worth you asking if you can use the mobility assistance facility there?

Is the OP’s equipment within the luggage allowance? I thought that you were loosely expected to be able to carry it (possibly with the assistance of integral wheels).

Thank you for raising this. This is on my list to check in the national Conditions of Carriage. There will be two of us, though, so I'm hopeful it balance out.

Thanks to everyone for their comments so far. I am planning to pop down next week and do a recce. I will report my findings back to this thread.

There’s always plenty of staff around to ask, but ime there’s sometimes one or two towards the open/country end of platforms 1-5. Never seen them on P10-11 as they‘re traditionally used for suburban services. The assistance buggies can get most places though, so that’s a good shout.

I suspect the response to that will be "I'm not a porter!".

Though that said. If they're not busy, obviously disabled passengers requiring assistance to physically board and alight trains are what they're there for, they may well be willing to lend a hand. If you don't ask, you don't get.

Though I'm pretty sure I've seen posts on here before where someone booked assistance for alighting with a pram and was told something along the lines of "we don't do prams". Which whilst probably wasn't the best way the staff could have handled the situation, is correct.

I think it was Virgin that used to actively say only bring what you can physically carry. I know at a major (non London) station near me, there are far less trolleys than there used to be pre Covid. Wether that's a conscious decision or they're just not being replaced when they're broken/stolen I don't know. But that's likely to be the same everywhere I'd think.
