Hey all, long time lurker here! I have booked the below two trains for a group of four, departing on Thurs 2nd July:
17.04 London St Pancras - Bruxelles Midi 20.05
21.45 Bruxelles Midi - Berlin Hbf 09.01
(each leg booked separately and direct from Eurostar and European Sleeper respectively, with return journeys a week later but those aren’t relevant to this thread)
However, I have received an email from European Sleeper saying their train has now been retimed to leave Brussels at 20.46. Given Eurostar’s good punctuality record I’m still fairly ok chancing this, but wanted to know what viable backup options and rights we would have if the connection misses. In particular, the sleeper doesn’t leave Liege Guillemins until 22.41, so was wondering how reasonable it would be to try and use the later 20.56 domestic IC from Brussels (arr 21.59) or even a taxi to catch up to it (I have read that some sleeper operators will immediately invalidate a no-show and sell the beds to someone else!)
