The 100 was tendered without a timetable, but rather a specification for operators to submit their own. I did work on a timetable for an operator who was not successful (or may not even have bid), perhaps because i couldn't make it fit the spec on an hourly basis with fewer than five buses without some serious risk of it being a house of cards which would fall at the merest hint of roadworks or refuse collection.
The 100 is going to be an hourly service between Bath and Bristol to via Timsbury, Farmborough, Bishop Sutton, and Chew Valley.
I'd love to see the actual route but are we talking it heading it going via Bishop Sutton, then to Chew Stoke, Chew Magna, then via Dundry to Hengrove Park and into Bristol? Every hour?

No I believe the orignial idea was to scrap the X91 and replace it with the 100 but they've opted to keep that route as well. I mean the Chew Valley was certainly due some bus improvements but this seems crazy. Hourly route to Bristol and Bath and a route every 90 minutes to Radstock and the X91 on top of that. I've also seen on a few facebook pages that there are campaigns to save the P1 as well!

An interesting site along the M4 eastbound today:
A convoy of various Bath and or Bristol based buses in all shapes, sizes and liveries.
Not sure whether they are transferring, or perhaps off for some RRS work this weekend, although nothing on the GWR network that I can see.

The X91 is actually being downgraded, receiving the vehicles from either the Y2C or 768 as it will be ran by VIA Transportation, however I suspect the Y2C is more likely to lose its minibuses as it’ll need to use double decks on quite a few of its new journeys.
A post on Facebook suggests one of Bath’s new repowers 71092 will be diverted temporarily to York.
York appear to have taken out of service their Optare Metrodeckers for now following a Metrodecker fire that occurred in London.
It’s probable that 71092 (and possibly others) will be used to help cover for the sidelined buses.

So far the only vehicle from west of England looking likely to be sent is 37588. It is unlikely that a council funded vehicle would be diverted elsewhere this late in time when already enroute down south.

37588 was transferred from First South Yorkshire - it was one of a number of B9TLs redundant in Bristol that was sent north about six weeks ago. Didn't turn a wheel there though.

And here is a photo of it just now in York, on hire from First West Yorkshire sticker in the windscreen and carrying a York area advert on the nearside

100 will be Bristol Centre, Temple Meads, Bedminster, Hengrove, Dundry, Chew Magna (either Chew Lane or turn at either Harford Square or Fire Station - i haven't heard a final decision on that as yet), Chew Stoke, Bishop Sutton, Chelwood Bridge, Clutton, Temple Cloud, White Cross, Hallatrow, High Littleton, Farmborough, Timsbury (not Greenvale), Tunley, Odd Down, Bath.

The most recent version of events that i've heard were that:
X91 will change operator was most recently mooted to be three journeys per day.
768 changes route (as a result of the introduction of the 100) and apparently will operate longer hours.
Y2C may change route number and will change operator, but there's nothing in the tendered schedule for it which will require deckers.

Thanks - that's exactly the route that I thought the 100 would take; just my view but I can't see how that service is ever going to be sustainable especially with the X91 being retained (albeit infrequently). As for Timsbury and Farmborough to Bristol... the 522 is quicker, and from Temple Cloud/Clutton, the 376/172 is both faster and more frequent. I know it brings more links but is there a requirement from Timsbury to Hengrove?
FWIW, I'd have had a 179/180 running Bath - Tunley - Timsbury - Farmborough - High Littleton - Paulton - MSN - Westfield (so providing an hourly frequency) and then split into either 179 via Wesley Ave and Radstock to Writhlington or 180 via Waterside Park and Radstock to Tyning, providing a better service around Radstock. I mean, it would still be rather empty but not as crazy as the 100.
An intensive 6 vehicle requirement for the 100... Seems likely for First or Stagecoach
Does anyone know when these tender awards and timetables will be publicised?
Also, has anyone else noticed the irony that WECA's enforced twice-yearly service change date is 30th August, yet they are allowing themselves to bring a load of changes on 26th July... I know they'll say "emergency tender end dates", but who set those end-dates...???
And finally, any idea when the changes for the end of next month might be outlined?

The biggest problem with the retention of the X91 is that the Chew Valley grockles very much perceived that as THEIR bus service. I can see 100 running empty and X91 being overloaded because the committee is telling everyone to catch the latter. Such is the problem of making a small vocal group of people in to the voice for public transport in an area.
It's also worth noting that since Easter, the 522 has been hellishly unreliable and subject to poor punctuality, whereas previously it was pretty damned good - i used to catch it out of choice because it was usually B9s rather than E400s and it wasn't often that it was missing or late.

Nobody shouts for Tyning, so they don't get anything. It's very interesting that this round of tenders are addressing where there have been sustained, noisy campaigns over recent months - Chew Valley, Radstock Road, 179 route - rather than where those with any local knowledge would direct resources.
I can't comment on that yet, but the suggestions i've heard suggestion that the operator to whom the contract has been awarded has reckoned on four. I came up with five with some recovery time to make it rather more realistic.

I've noticed that recently. Had three vehicles within 2 mins of each other on 522/172/174 the other night into Radstock. When it was LH depot, they could feed another bus relatively easily into the cycle but not when it's interworked with Wells routes.

Apologies - fat fingers. I meant 5 not 6 but my point still stands. I might be surprised to see someone else get it like a Eurocoaches or Lemon. That route in under two hours... unless it's being interworked with something that has plenty of recovery time, that looks very tight.
I assumed from the previous post (#32,883) on the Y2C that it was going to incorporate the 918, and that was where the requirement for deckers came from?
Probably a Weston vehicle, they use E400MMCs now alongside the Yutongs as they only have 5 Streetdecks left and only 1 of those would be anywhere near Hotwells today
