Another historic one, Micheldever Station on the London to Southampton line was originally named "Andover Road", and was built to provide a link by horse drawn coach to Andover. When the Worting Junction to Salisbury line was built, a new station was provided in Andover itself, about 10 miles from the original one. The latter was then renamed Micheldever, after a village over two miles away. (Subsequently a smaller settlement which grew up around the station became known as "Micheldever Station" and is quite separate from the original village).
