Goes past Metrocentre & Angle of the North on A1 nowThese new hauliers don't go via the Tyne Tunnel because apparently their trailer is too long for it. I'm not sure on the exact route, though.

I believe they take the A19 up to the A1 junction at Seaton Burn then straight down the A1, and into Shildon as before. These new hauliers don't go via the Tyne Tunnel because apparently their trailer is too long for it. I'm not sure on the exact route, though.
I see, thank you. These new hauliers don't go via the Tyne Tunnel because apparently their trailer is too long for it. I'm not sure on the exact route, though.

Im sure it was said somewhere that 4079 is also withdrawn which would leave just 7 in service
They are taken to Howdon by two other Metrocars. Some will have parts removed before leaving, but that's starting to be less important now that there are so few to keep going. Are they stripped of parts or driven to their doom?
Unfortunately looks like this won’t happen, sad to say. Best to get out there and try and have a final ride if your able to![]()
Hi everyone, I am new here. I love the Metrocars and I made a petition to keep two of them in service. Please sign and share it if you can.
Good riddance@tez thorn Crack open the champagne, 4009 is going for scrap today.
Why two? Is it for braking issues? They are taken to Howdon by two other Metrocars. Some will have parts removed before leaving, but that's starting to be less important now that there are so few to keep going.

It's so the condemned victim can't see what's coming and try to escape. Why two? Is it for braking issues?

None out at the moment.Hi, does anyone know if there’s any old metro trains out today and lines they are on?
Any idea what time the transport is leaving for Shildon?None out at the moment.
4027 for scrap today.
Probably around 11:30-12:00 based on the past couple days. The hauliers are already at Howdon, and the metrocars are nearly there.Any idea what time the transport is leaving for Shildon?

No. 4020 is rumoured to be going into preservation, not for scrapping. It’s also not being transported this week. 4035 is supposed to be going for scrap tomorrow.is 4020 also planning for scrap this week thanks?
I wonder if they can squeeze it into Locomotion when no one is looking.No. 4020 is rumoured to be going into preservation, not for scrapping. It’s also not being transported this week. 4035 is supposed to be going for scrap tomorrow.
Beamish are no longer able to take it. Nexus have publicly confirmed that a metrocar will be going to a different museum instead, although they haven't yet confirmed if it is still 4020 or which museum it will be going to. However, the latest rumours are that it is still 4020 and it is now going to NELSAM.4020 is (was?) to be preserved at Beamish.
