Multi-day break of journey on return portion of Off-Peak Return?

I'm intending to travel from Harlington (Beds) to Great Yarmouth with an Off-Peak Return (SVR - restriction code 9A) priced at £88:

On the return portion, I intend to stay in Ipswich for two nights. I'd still complete the return well within the one month validity of the ticket.

Is this multi-day break of journey permitted on this ticket? I recall it is, but when I tried to put in a 600mins change duration using TrainSplit (to test this out and push the end of the return journey on to another day), the Off Peak return option was removed from the options. I don't know if this is because of lack of support for this kind of break-of-journey within TrainSplit, or if the restrictions of the ticket (or NR conditions of travel) do not allow this?

If it is allowed, do most rail staff know about this? I'll be travelling with my family and I don't want to run the risk of awkward disagreements.

It is allowed and most staff know about it (though the odd few can be a pain).

If using a magstripe paper ticket, I would recommend telling anyone checking your ticket before they mark it (as they tend to just scribble on it, potentially causing issues when resuming-less of an issue with barcode as the scan time and location are recorded).

Yes, that's right. I checked the option to set different options for the outward and return journeys.

I got Trainsplit to offer the £88 Off-peak Return on a 62-hour journey setting off Friday evening and arriving Monday lunchtime, by adding 600 minutes extra change time at Norwich, Diss, Stowmarket, Needham Market and Ipswich. So if you really wanted to you could get an itinerary that shows your intended departure train from Great Yarmouth and your intended journey from Ipswich back to Harlington two days later, but it shouldn't be necessary to have it to show ticket inspectors (and if you did encounter one that refuses to accept overnight break of journey then what are the chances they will accept a Trainsplit itinerary?).

The ticket restriction 9A excludes return trains arriving Liverpool Street before 10am (or Stratford before 9:45am) so excludes the other itineraries in the screenshot. Further, this restriction applies to any train you take even if you don't stay on it to the barred station, so your generated itinerary (and your actual itinerary!) must not include any trains between Norwich and Ipswich early on a weekday morning, as those trains continue to Liverpool Street, even if you will be breaking your journey and continuing to London at a valid time.

(Interestingly, the 9A restrictions are phrased as "valid on trains timed..." rather than (the more common?) "not valid on trains timed...", but Euston and Kensington Olympia have Friday easements phrased as "except Fridays", implying that the off-peak ticket is not valid at all, rather than the intended meaning that the ticket is valid all day. The electronic restrictions, which are used by journey planners, do "correctly" impose restrictions on Mon-Thu only for Euston, but Kensington Olympia does not get any Friday exceptions at all.)
