Is there any Hymeks that are passed to be dragged on the big railway? I'm guessing 7017 is going by road instead.

Only on 0Z44, 47714 is being dropped off at the Wensleydale (which is why the train goes there), and 37250 will carry on to the NYMR.

Having found it will take 2h21m from MCV to Malton then a 40 min wait for the bus to Pickering I will give this a miss

0Z37 will be the Rail Adventure power cars (which have been at the NYMR all weekend) returning 37250 to the Wensleydale Railway.
0Z38 will be the power cars returning home.

At KWVR, they have worked twice, both 2023 and 2025. Are there any air-braked coaches at NYMR this year? If not, that will be one of the reasons why they aren't working.

I think the Hymek is vacuum braked only, so maybe that has something to do with it.

I visited the NYMR gala last weekend and enjoyed it. 3 x 37 and a 20 will do for me! However the numbers did seem down on last year and with the blue 31 AWOL and the 25 U/S the Whitby services took a bit of a downgrade.
There were a number of spirited runs up the Grosmont bank ( single 20 and the EWS 37 especially) whilst the grey 37 driver was having fun with the loud handle on the run to Whitby and back.
I enjoyed the event but it did feel that there was an "apex predator" missing from the very top of the roster. I wonder if the class 35 was supposed to be the star but it didn't seem to work. I guess if funds are needed for bridge and P'way works then something has to give. I hope the costs were covered and it will return next year with a big beast as a star.
Good news was there were very few top men and only one pod of annoying youth teamers which surprised me and made for an enjoyable ambience.

I went on the Thursday and there were practically none of the irritating characters you often get at these events, and it seemed reasonably busy for the day that is usually quiet. The driver of 37688 was indeed enjoying himself, including making an elderly lady at Sleights jump out of her skin. It was nice to make the acquaintance of 47077 again, some 24 years after my last trip with her!

That doesn’t phase me one bit. It’s an absolute beast and after its famous performance at the Churnet Valley, it’s a loco I’ll always have a lot of time for!
