Are the /0s going to be sufficient to see off all the 458/4s? I presume the /5s will then be used to remove any remaining 450s from suburban/Windsor side work.
I believe there are 7 pairs of 458/4 weekday diagrams and there are 8 more 701s to come into passenger service. So yes. just.

A minor correction. This week should be 47 weekday 701 diagrams and 6 pairs of 458/4s. That should allow for 58 units to form 53 diagrams making it doable without the Derby unit or the one suspected to be at Farnham.

Another GBRF light loco move has appeared from Leicester to Farnham. I'm assuming it's 701 related and not a 450 being in a bad way.

Thank you for that correction. Very useful. Any idea what this 701 movement might be?

It's a slightly unusual move and not confirmed as a 701. There were some cancelled 701 moves and no one has reported 701004 as having left Farnham. It's possible it's actually for a 450 though would be surprising for it to require a light loco and Wimbledon doesn't do a lot with 450s.

Is it "R terry O" or "R teary O"? I thought it was the latter, but I noticed the automated PA at Staines use the former pronunciation!
I noticed this at Vauxhall too - but I believe the Phil Sayers voice is now an AI model trained on his old recordings? So I was wondering if it was a mistake in that. Either way the name still makes me think of Arteriosclerosis...

Thanks. Does this displace a 450 pair to the Windsor side to allow another 458/4 pair to retire?

There's only 6 pairs of 458/4s left and they all seem to leave waterloo for the windsor side stoppers between 1730 and 1900. It gets very overcrowded Mon-Thurs.

Definitely, there’s a few dedicated threads about it such as this one:

seems the 701/5 gone quiet again not anything left Bicester recently
It looks like SWR are concentrating on getting the last 701/0s into service which are probably proving obstinate.
Furthermore SWR have enough 701/5s in/around London already - 13 out of 30 so 43%.

So I suspect any moves soon from Bicester are going to be to Derby Litchurch Lane.

Probably those at Bicester now need to go back to Derby for some modifications

Yes. Down to 5 pairs of 458/4s diagrammed next week.

Thank you for this information. I am guessing it is the diagram commencing with 2R07 that goes over to 450 because it looks like it has been modified to end at Farnham if all of the booked platform information has been updated.

Does anyone know if todays 5Z52 1336 Farnham C.S.D. to Wimbledon Park Depot Sdgs has gone off route or been caped at Farnham & shunted back to the CS? It was reportedly 57306 + 701004.

It was never sent out, 701 004 has a lot of faults on it so it was unable to leave, hopefully it should be ready for departure shortly

Yes the decision to cancel it came late, it should be moving today, it had a module fault which needed replacing

Saw 004 rolling into Wimbledon Park at around 1804
I appreciate this is not an easy question to answer but how far away is 004 from entering service? Will it now have to go through all the usual checks at Wimbledon or can its final
test runs now begin.

Im assuming we will see 040 in service first in any event

Will have to go through the checks at Wimbledon and I'd guess there's probably faults left for the team at Wimbledon to fix. That unit was at Farnham much longer than all the others and skipped over into service.

Of the other 6 701/0 units with SWR not in passenger service. 040 did some testing runs and returned to Wimbledon this week. Some units get sent back to Clapham for further runs, a few do a final trip from Wimbledon and others enter service shortly after coming back.

015 and 028 have been regularly allocated for various trips. 024 has had some public allocations though appears to be mostly static/within depot confines of late.

027 and 029 haven't had public allocations for the test circuits and unlikely to have done them. They both got to Wimbledon in May. Most units have entered service close to Wimbledon arrival order. I'd expect both to enter service before 004 unless there's a hard to fix fault.
