Hi guys

A month ago I'd booked tickets for myself and the wife from St Pancras to Girona on Trainline, via the two Paris stops, for
three weeks this September.

Unfortunately my good lady suffered a stroke yesterday so said trip has now been put on hold/cancelled.

Can somebody point me in the right direction re getting some of my money back - I presume there will be a percentage
deducted for all the usual reasons - but any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Probably one for your travel insurance.

I wish your good lady a speedy recovery

Trainline, in the first instance. But I agree that it may be a matter for travel insurance (if you have it).

I have never used trainline so I do not know what their refund form looks like. However I have had discretionary refunds from retailers before on medical grounds. I had to select medical as the reason and upload medical evidence so it's worth seeing if this is an option on the refund form on train line.

It's not clear if Trainline will refund otherwise nonrefundable tickets for travel on foreign operators due to medical reasons. So, try asking them first. But I suspect this one will be a travel insurance claim. Hopefully your wife gets better, OP.
