GBR Business Units - Thameslink and WMR

WMR including Birmingham/West Midlands suburban? I thought generally more alignment to TfWM/WMCA would have been desired rather than bundling in LNWR and Thameslink? Seems like a plan to take eye balls of Birmingham from an uninformed immediate reactionary view

For clarity, is this a suggestion that Thameslink East Coast services could be combined with the current LNER East Coast services into one single business unit, or am I misunderstanding what is being suggested?

West Midlands Railway
Chiltern Railways
NR's Central Route

London North Western Railway
Avanti West Coast
NR's West Coast South route

Not sure what Thameslink have to do with that?

West Coast South won’t exist it being rolled into West Coast Route covering the whole of the WCML to the Regional boundary in Scotland

With the era of devolution in London how will the Thameslink business units work with TfL?

I know Sadiq Khan previously mentioned he wanted to take over the Southern services of GTR which given most operate outside of London it would not have worked. A lot of the Thamesline services, however, do operate largely within London.

Sorry I meant to say a lot of their services largely only serve Greater London in that a lot of their passengers only travel within Lodnon.

So West Coast IBU is Euston-Gretna Jn? And some branches? And eventually HS2?
Does that include all of North West Route, or are they going to be separate?
Will West Coast IBU include TPE (WCML services) as well as Avanti and LNWR?
Too many questions!

NW route (with Blackpool hived off) is separate.

But they are due to go ETCS soon, aren't they, though what their extent will be isn't known yet.
If the same happens on the East Coast, York will also be split.
Until now, NR has kept their ROCs/SCCs tied to individual Routes/Regions, even forming their boundaries in places.

Of course, the initial IBUs might not be the last word on GBR's structure.
I remember the date in 1963 when BR announced the transfer of Aynho-Snow Hill-Shrewsbury-Chester from WR to LMR, and Salisbury-West Country from SR to WR, to general consternation. ;)
