What about Isleworth to Syon Lane, or indeed Syon Lane to Brentford on the Hounslow Loop Line.

Theoretically, a 125mph pendolino could pass both Ty Glas and Birchgrove in about 6.6 seconds.

Back in the day, there were numerous examples of stations directly adjacent to each other (owned by different companies), that were connected by track, albeit via sidings and/or reversals.

If Eurostar ever serve the route (probability zero :lol: ) I reckon a class 374 could stop with one cab in Ty Glas and the other in Birchgrove. I'm not sure whether there would be a passenger door on both platforms though.

Would require a reversal but technically connected, surely Wigan North Western to wallgate is worth a mention. Around 600m by track though obviously much closer walking.

Shotton to Hawarden Bridge is about 0.5 miles by rail but 2.2 miles by road. However the railway bridge across the River Dee is part of a National Cycle Route so you can walk between the two stations.
