I managed a rare move on Wednesday... the gate on P8 behind the information kiosk was open, and people were using it. That saved me 5 seconds on my journey to P9d, and I avoided the gaggle gathered just where people want to turn the corner back towards the eastern footbridge. Just the Southern...

I did get to see it properly, finally, today, choosing the correct side of the train for once. Spotted the wires were up, connected to the masts on the other side, with some sort of overlapping runs which is why there were odd masts on the east-bound side. Every day is a school day, thanks you...

It's weird, because I wouldn't have thought they'd put masts on one side but not the other. It feels as if only one in 10 masts has gone up, eastbound! I'll see if I can grab some video from the train tomorrow to explain what I mean to people who don't know the area (if I'm awake and remember).

Definitely breaks between Cross Gates and Garforth, heading east. Difficult for me to see, but the corresponding westbound masts might be in place.

I think a steady white light when open, flashing orange when closing. Thinking red-green colourblindness here (which is another reason to hate the grey-amber-grey reservation lights on the 8xx-series trains).

Despite me telling the rest of the team that they couldn't film outside Leeds Station's New Station Street entrance without permission, it being Network Rail land, they went ahead... plonked the tripod down... and were visited by two pairs of staff asking what they were doing. And quite right...

I'm sure I've seen gaps in the steelwork between Cross Gates and Micklefield, but can't remember where. Not in the office again until Monday, but will have a look. When you're on the train it's difficult to see which wires are up, but missing masts are fairly obvious.

Could be. I was on Leeds Passenger Consultative Committee at the time, but never hung on to the Committee papers.

Interesting wording. Legally, a Private Hire Vehicle isn't a taxi (Hackney Carriage), and PHVs aren't all Ubers. Bet no-one puts it to the test though... ;)
