When you join the fire service you probably have skills and qualifications, unfortunately after those quals lapse all your left with are the skills that you gain as an emergency worker. Many are transferable and train driving is one of the only jobs left where you don't require to many academic...
It depends on the TOC you join, I left the fire service in 2014 and unfortunately the TOC I work for do not accept transfers from external pension schemes, so check if it is pivotal.
That said, that is the only negative thing I can say about the change of career.

Hahaha...Just wondering if some people misunderstand the term ASSessment. My advice is don't wear tight trousers, you will not be favoured in anyway :D.
