When Tfw trains are at most of their own stations, they seem to just blow the whistle hand wave and go, when Avanti stop at these same stations there seems to be a much more regimented dispatch. Even on straight platforms with often only a 5 car.

I dont have time to go through every post but the really late / early train from Manchester to Leeds (TPE) I've used on certain early flights, have regularly had the lights dimmed and where announced as such and was quite nice.

The late mid to late 90s on the North Wales coast saw everything from pacers, to sprinters, to Loco hauled with some compartment coaches as well as first generation DMUs and then dragged pendolino s . Was a great time to travel as you genuinely had no idea what would turn up or in what livery.
