Stay safe.
Saw 2 low-loaders with carriages on this morning heading south down the M3 passing Winchester.
Guess they were off to be scrapped at Eastleigh?
Sorry - no numbers as I was heading north.
No, it was a 10-car [as usual] formed of a 5-car from Weymouth & a 5-car from Bournemouth. They join at SOU and run as the 07:30 via SOA and WIN, then direct to WAT. Good service but always packed, especially from WIN.
My journey yesterday morning from SOA to WAT involved my sitting on the floor next to the buffet point on a class 444.
I seem to suffer this fate every few months when the Gods conspire to prevent me from getting a seat at SOA or WIN.
Got talking to some fellow passengers, one of whom...
The reason behind Streetview is to enhance their advertising revenue, that's why Micro$oft are only going to record certain roads i.e. those with businesses on them for their upgrade to Bing maps.
Unless you could show Google a good revenue earning opportunity by recording rail journeys then...
Hmm, was supposed to be working from the office in London tomorrow so I may call the boss & tell him that I shan't bother if it's going to take ages to get up there & back.
Shame because I bet the 07:38 SOA to WAT will be empty tomorrow.
