Bus stop information 'causing misery' for bus commuters

If I know in advance what is happening then I don't mind that a bus is cancelled, diverted or late running. Even if I end up having to pay for the only other bus I can get to work at least I know. A few times I've had non tracking buses show up, some just don't track and don't show up without...

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

I don't think Lothian need a weekly ticket, for me it's just cheaper to use the X38 regardless of taptapcap and then if I did want bundled tickets they only do them in 5 or 20 so not a full week or month. It's £4.50 from Winchburgh and £3.50 from Kirkliston at least from their website unless...

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

The cost for me is the main factor stopping me from using the X19 from Winchburgh. For monthly travel for work I'd be paying close to £36 more with lothian than McGills (£ 110 vs 74.10) plus I'd get 8 extra days less as it's 20 day tickets (Lothian) vs just 28 days travel (McGills) I never...

    Lothian group (Network/Route Speculation)

Wasn't there also a 22B, that diverted via Krikliston and Winchburgh then onto Broxburn via Niddry Rd, and also went into Newbridge rather than straight on past the car showrooms? I'm sure that's the one I used to get home after work, was around 2016/17 I used it, and was handy when I finished...

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

I felt the X38 from LCB was slightly pointless from my use case compared with First at the time since they didn't offer true weekly/monthly tickets (5/20x day tickets I think?) and were more expensive for the same journey, the only benefit was travel within Edinburgh, but when I only need to be...

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

As a local of Winchburgh, I really hope people use the 72, I know many people really wanted something in place of the 600 as soon as it was axed, and also heard some talking about having Lothian in the area even when First was here. It may have taken longer to get something than initially...

McGill's Scotland East (Midland Bluebird and Eastern Scottish)

Wasn't it the 22B that was basically a 22 that ran around 11.45 from Edinburgh but did Kirliston, Winchburgh then onto Broxburn rather than going straight to Broxburn from Newbridge like the 22 used to? I used to use it when working evening shifts until they stopped it. I know the last X38 from...

McGill's Scotland East (Midland Bluebird and Eastern Scottish)

Yeah better a bus with A4 destination than no bus, still not good but at least I got to work on time. I did notice another A4 sheet behind it facing into the bus with 4 on it though so maybe also running the 4 service?

Well this is a first with McGill's for me. Sitting on 2281 an Eclipse Urban which has its front destination board blank/not working and just a piece of A4 with X38 on it to signify the bus. Definitely not a good look, to be honest.

McGill's Scotland East (Midland Bluebird and Eastern Scottish)

Its definitely a mixed bag at the moment. Seen and been on at least 3 different liveried bus not counting the first livery that's had the bluebird branding. Not really a good look but I hope it gets sorted sooner rather than later. Even if they don't get all buses done right away just having a...

McGill's Scotland East (Midland Bluebird and Eastern Scottish)

I noticed that too on a bus I was on, I mean it is a nice vinyl but definitely a shabby bus to show it off on.

McGill's Scotland East (Midland Bluebird and Eastern Scottish)

Why would there be buses going on the M9? Saw two tracking there a short time ago both in different directions as x38 then one is tracking again just now heading to Edinburgh alongside an a x38 around the same area but in Linlithgow heading to Edinburgh. Just for timing, to make up journeys or...

McGill's Scotland East (Midland Bluebird and Eastern Scottish)

I don't know how much of a change they can make in a day or whatever since officially starting but currently on a full x38 with a 2nd almost behind that's empty or at least not many passengers. For a 30 minute service there's obviously something wrong here.

First Scotland East (Midland Bluebird and West Lothian operations)

Yeah they have that on the X38. It's obviously not Eastern Scottish, I think it's Midland bluebird but it's a nice touch and a nod to the past. If they do bring the old livery back and are consistent with it and buses used then definitely better than what I see on the x38 route which can vary...

First Scotland East (Midland Bluebird and West Lothian operations)

Interested to see what happens in the coming weeks and months. As a user of the X38 into Edinburgh almost daily and the 600 a fair but then there's a some things I'd like to see happen now McGills are taking over. 1. Keep a fair fare system in place especially for weekly/monthly tickets like...
