Southeastern - Trainee Driver - Recruitment Discussion

It’s a set list of things that doesn’t change. The image will flash up briefly, disappear and you then tick the box next to any of the objects you think you saw….. or should I say, Know that you saw! A tip given to me on here was ‘don’t guess’.

    LNER employment benefits

And for GTR if anyone knows? Particularly interested if there are any benefits like LNER for reduced family travel (outside of any pass that a spouse or dependent would get)

    Assessments & Medicals discussion

I would say the MMI is more intense, in the sense that they require more detail in the answers you give. The DMI felt a lot more relaxed in my opinion and it threw me off a bit at first as I was still in MMI mode! That said, the DMI I would say is very much like a standard job interview -...

    Assessments & Medicals discussion

Hi - I can confirm it is relating to the train braking system but having never sat the test when it was the passage about ‘Glop’ I have no comparison. I would imagine it’s a very similar level of difficulty and length of passage to keep things fair though ? It’s still multiple choice questions.

GTR (Southern) - Trainee Train Driver - Multiple depots (29/11/24)

No - nothing about the technical side of things - they do ask what you know about GTR and so I mentioned the route coverage and a few facts and figures but that was about it - it was a very open question so I’d say if you’ve prepped with stuff about the trains it wouldn’t hurt to put that in too ?

GTR (Southern) - Trainee Train Driver - Multiple depots (29/11/24)

Thanks - Was at go-ahead house - there were some competency questions and were similar to the MMI ones but worded a bit different , at least I though they were and so I tried to use some of those answers and make them fit as best I could! Where’s your interview? Possibly it differs depot to...

GTR (Southern) - Trainee Train Driver - Multiple depots (29/11/24)

Thanks. Yes - stage 1 and 2 of the assessments done, including MMI - so it’s just a case of waiting in the talent pool for a course start date

GTR (Southern) - Trainee Train Driver - Multiple depots (29/11/24)

They did say it would prob be next week (as in anytime from now really) it’s just that I heard back quicker than this after each of the previous stages. Just keen to know either way now! 1757930610 Assessments were at OPC - timeframe was May-Sept - quick responses after each stage, advising if...

GTR (Southern) - Trainee Train Driver - Multiple depots (29/11/24)

Recently had my DMI with GTR having passed all the OPC assessments. I am yet to hear back from recruitment as to whether I passed or failed (although I didn't feel it went particularly well - almost seemed too laid back and it threw me off a bit?) - anyone who has recently sat a DMI, did you...

    Assessments & Medicals discussion

I’m hoping it isn’t one as I haven’t a clue how to answer it really! Anyone sat the MMI recently and have any recollection of the 6 questions they ask? I’m wondering if I’ve got confused by different wording to a question and they tweak them a bit based on your SJT answers?
