My wife and I are travelling to Edinburgh in January and like to go first to Edinburgh Park. I see TPE and XCountry trains are available to book now, but not LNER, which we prefer. Is there a reason for this Do TPE and XCountry sell their tickets earlier than LNER. It's 11 weeks, 6 days ahead...

Thanks for your reply Yes, I think I'll just book the direct train. Looking on YT, that 10:52 train EMR train to Ely is actually the UK's longest regional service, going all the way to Liverpool in just over 5 1/2 hours .. as you say, that could easily become very busy

OP here We've just returned from our short stay in Glasgow and had a trip to Rothesay, which was very good. To be fair, the train journey to Wemyss Bay, then the ferry over to Rothesay were the best parts ... but Rothesay seafront was nice too.
