Cambridge South : no parking (and local CCTV is dissuade anyone from stopping near by...)

Every train that passes through the station stops including Cross Country who presumably in normal circumstances wouldn't have stopped. I believe this was how they made the timetable worked given Cambridge is a challenge and they have to fit around ECML and WAML.

Cambridge South : no parking (and local CCTV is dissuade anyone from stopping near by...)

Cambridge North illustrates this point perfectly. It is at a point where consistently people park outside defined spaces on the verge in the car park or on the traffic routes because it no longer has sufficient capacity. Norths location probably means it can better handle car traffic to it than...

The end of 387 on Cambridge fasts

Is this because there just isn't the capacity at Cambridge anymore for this?

The end of 387 on Cambridge fasts

Do any fast services commence at Cambridge? I thought in normal service they all started at Kings Lynn or Ely running as stopping services to Cambridge South and then non stop afterwards (or minimal calls in peak).

The end of 387 on Cambridge fasts

Presumably to achieve this requires a return to splitting and joining more services at Cambridge which reduces resilience and requires more staff?

Additional Peak Regional Services on Greater Anglia

Is the issue that Ely doesn't have the capacity for an additional service in the peak at present?

    GBR Anglia

Even if they do get additional units they still need a way to cycle them through Crown Point from Stansted side - or would we just have ECS?

Could the Marks Tey to Sudbury line be operated by Class 230s?

Especially as this line has to be a 3 car.

Greater Anglia Class 755s (Regional Trains)

So the 745 fleet that was presumably already rather tight has one out for the medium term? I presume stocking parts is challenging due to the volume of different components that might be needed?

Consistent delays at Cambridge South: What improvements could be made to resolve these?

Every train that runs through Cambridge South stops there. This is different to north where for example Cross Country don't call. It was said this was to make the timetable work.

Consistent delays at Cambridge South: What improvements could be made to resolve these?

Was this actually just being masked previously by the timetable having the time allowance for the stop built in for months before opening?

    GBR Anglia

Thanks the quiet zone is something that doesn't exist for GA in the 729 fleet.

    GBR Anglia

Given the planned sharing of the 720 fleet are there any differences? Are they all 5 car units? Do c2c still have quiet carriages on them?

Cambridge South: Given the missed opportunity for a public transport hub, how can the station be better served by feeder buses?

Would the Addenbrookes/biomedical campus be helped if all buses served only the Hills road bus stop hub or the guides bus way stop close to that and then anything within the campus was dealt with by a fleet of minibuses running continuously around the site possibly in two directions so that you...

Why Cambridge South was not built with two islands instead of side/island/side platforms

I wonder if this will prove less of an issue than we expect. Taking 1100 hour tomorrow at random nine trains run to Cambridge and only two go from platform 4.
