Great British Railways - First Train in New Livery

With the other set in front I couldn’t see, though there definitely was a 68 attached so I’d say it’s quite likely!

Great British Railways - First Train in New Livery

Spotted the GBR Mk5 set today during taxi/takeoff from Southampton Airport… just visible if you’re sat on the right hand side of the aircraft facing north on the runway. It’s tucked away behind a Chiltern liveried set.

    McGill’s Midland Bluebird

I live in Bo’ness and the bus situation really is poor. The 909 is so unreliable, regularly 20-30 mins late all day. The F45 really should be a more frequent all day link to Linlithgow. People are forced into their cars here and it’s not right. We really need a better link to Edinburgh or Linlithgow

TfW Class 67+Mk4 sets: trip planning/experiences, diagram updates etc

Does anyone know if the chefs will be working this coming week? I’m planning to take the 12:30 or 14:30 from Manchester south on Friday, hoping to try some of the menu!

    Rural Stirlingshire bus upgrades

As someone originally from the area, I really feel that the C62 doesn’t quite get the Fintry market right. I feel the better way to have served Fintry would be a route either Kippen - Fintry - Lennoxtown - Kirkintilloch - Lenzie Station, or Kippen - Fintry - Killearn - Strathblane - Milngavie...

LNER Customer Host - Recruitment and Discussion

You will always get a response, I would allow up to 2 weeks before getting in touch. Usually it’s about a week before you’d hear anyway

F1 should just be merged back into the regular 1 for a better through service. People want to be able to travel from Whitecross to Falkirk, but a change of bus with an often tight or unreliable connection can be enough to put people off and either back into their cars or find other ways. If...

LNER Customer Host - Recruitment and Discussion

So I guess I can give you a bit of an overview on the roster, shifts etc for EDB and how that would look for you as a new start. You start with around 2-3 weeks of training down in York, to learn more about the company and understand the role more in depth (accommodation is provided for you...

LNER Customer Host - Recruitment and Discussion

Hi there, hope I can help. I’m a CX Host based in EDB, worked for LNER for just over 3 years. The assessment days vary slightly on each occasion, but generally start with a group activity in a group of 5-8 people (this part usually lasts an hour). This involves working together to create a...

    Lothian group (Network/Route Speculation)

I feel Lothian Country could maybe try a different tactic for the X38 corridor. I’d propose extending the 71 to start back from Waterloo Place, following the route of the X27/28 to Sighthill, then up to the Gyle, and run it as it currently does towards Newbridge, Kirkliston and Queensferry -...

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

Something I’d have still liked to see would be the 100 serving Ingliston P&R overnight when the tram isn’t running. I drive in from Falkirk for starting work between 5&7am and having the bus from Ingliston would be really helpful

McGill's Scotland East (Midland Bluebird and Eastern Scottish)

I’d definitely like to see a faster version, if nothing else. Follow the same route as far as Newbridge (maybe include an Airport stop), then up the M9 to J3, then serve Linlithgow and follow the X38 route through to Falkirk. I reckon it could move more rail passengers over to the buses if a...

    Possible LNER expansion.

Just to clarify for the Glasgow crew discussion (as someone who works for LNER), the Senior Host, Chef and 2 Hosts who work 1E06 in the morning, are all from the former Glasgow depot crew, they book on at 0623, and are joined by one Edinburgh host that books on at 0735 (Monday - Friday). They...

    Possible LNER expansion.

I can confirm from internal comms that by December 2024, Glasgow, Stirling & Sunderland will very much be gone. From a rostering point of view, we were told that by removing the early morning Stirling from Edinburgh, we’ll be looking to introduce an earlier service (0430/0500) to London...

McGill's Scotland East (Midland Bluebird and Eastern Scottish)

The only real benefit of the new Airport service that I can see is the stop at Waverley Steps. St Andrews Square (for the Airlink 100) is only 2 mins away, but when people have got luggage they’ll always go for the convenient option - so I reckon anyone arriving by train into Waverley will just...
