Well i am likely to have to do this trip regularly, i like the idea of taking a train down so i can relax on the way or work but this was anything except relaxing
I am also contemplating doing moor st to marleybone instead as perhaps marleybone isnt as bad
I think they were taking each others...
I am not a frequent traveller by rail and last week i posted asking advice about a return trip from Birmingham to Braintree which took place on monday/tuesday.
I am back now, but- this was quite an experience!!
On the way down, the train i had booked (LNW) was delayed but eventually turned up-...
Thanks for the advice guys, i have to do this journey a few times and no doubt will be more relaxed when i am more familiar with it.
With regards to the tickets it was always cheaper years ago to split the fares, maybe that is no longer the case.
With regards to my london euston tickets...
The...
Hey guys,
I do use the trains occasionally but very rarely through London and i dont know the underground, and i need to do a return trip to braintree in just over a week from birmingham new st
I have booked the tickets for the london-birmingham / birmingham-london legs because i got them...
Hi All,
Im hoping someone can clarify something for me?
Most weeks i travel from wolverhampton to new brighton, this week will be on a standard off peak return. I go from wolves to lime st, then get the wirral line to new brighton
However on the OUT journey this week i would like to...
I think if its clearly labelled and people are warned...that is fair enough myself
Its when people cant tell me whats happening i get a bit miffed or when no notice is given.
Maybe 12 months ago there was disruption with london midlands line, i was stranded and no one seemed to know...
Yeah id been looking at alternative routes
when i do this journey normally i simply go direct (london midland) wolverhampton to liverpool.
but i have considered getting a bus or even a taxi to stafford where i think there are virgin services as well
Hey ferret
To be fair i guessed the service may be disrupted, and have planned ahead in terms of adding four hours to get there
The bit i was unsure about was provision of road replacement
Thanks
Hey all
Thanks for all the information, i appreciate it isnt possible to predict things, i guess i was trying to get a feel for how hard they try to provide transport, and how fragile the network is.
If you believe the media, a dusting of snow stops everything
I have moved plans...
Hey all
I absoloutly HAVE to travel from wolverhampton to liverpool tommorow... i cant delay it, and will be setting off about lunchtime.
As you all no doubt know, we are expecting heavy snow tommorow
I guess this may well stop the london-liverpool line in its tracks so to speak...
Yeah they used to run a ten minute train straight from walsall to wolverhampton, now its over an hour and goes to wolverhampton via brum! :|
I assume there was a lack of demand for it...
So you would advise training crewe to wolverhampton, then picking up the bus to walsall? (bus runs...
Thanks for all the help, my boss has agreed to change my hours slightly to an 8.30 start.
Ive been lookin at the routes, and it seems i COULD get a 6.20 from crewe to brum, then a train straight to walsall (where i work) and never have to get a bus...
Theres a 20 minute wait between...
Ok i have to admit i do this occasionally.. however if the train is crowded i always move my bag so that people can sit down- id never leave someone standing.
The main reason i do it is because i so frequently get either
a) a drunk
or
b) a screaming child
or
c) someone who...
