    1992 stock Refurbishment?

Unsure what you mean by currently stopped but I definitely saw 91001 in service on Wednesday.

Lewes derailment - Thursday 13th August

I copy paste on to you, in an additive rather than detractive fashion, the words of the national broadcaster: No serious injuries or fatalities, BBC understands. Already put on to the thread 11 minutes ago! Alas.

    HS2 Old Oak Common

Luckily I don't know what they are. I will continue to ignore them and hope that it doesn't continue to permeate the parts of the forum that I do read.

    HS2 Old Oak Common

I'd rather AI slop didn't make it to RailUK.

Should I expect compensation from Eurostar?

I've always found Eurostar pretty handy when it comes to making things right - up until the point where it stops being their business. So when I missed the last train due to a DB kerfuffle? Certainly sir, here's a new ticket for the first train tomorrow. A hotel? On vous pointe vers nos chers...

    London Buses Discussion

Hate to be like this as there is of course no skill involved in riding the superloop all the way round. But I think an optimal run could be achieved going from Thamesmead to North Woolwich (naturally) on a Sunday morning.. dependent on arriving slightly early in to Bromley North and making a 1...

    London Buses Discussion

Did a journey today starting at Walthamstow and doing the whole thing clockwise (under the Thames in the Woolwich Foot Tunnel and traipsing across to Thamesmead on the 472). Full journey time 7 hours 15 minutes. Definitely quicker with the empty roads at 0530 on a Sunday. Only significant...

Freedom Pass + BZ6 on EMR to Luton

I note the presence of previous threads on similar topics but I could not find a satisfactory answer. I would be grateful if somebody could confirm the validity of a ticket combination of a Luton Airport Parkway - BZ6 single coupled with a freedom pass, on EMR trains (i.e. the so called Luton...

    London to Calais?

It used to be that you would simply buy the London to Calais train ticket for little over 30 quid and there you were. Understanding staff at St. Pancras would even sell you the high-speed supplement saving one the bother of taking the slow train to Dover. What a shame that ticket has been withdrawn.

Set-down/Pick-up only: Consequences of breaking the rules?

An old favourite - if the train does not pick up passengers at this station then I have not boarded it here..

TOC-specific long-term promotions that are only available direct

This was pre-pandemic I believe, the exact dates can't be certain.

TOC-specific long-term promotions that are only available direct

I had some very angry LNER ticket staff in the KGX office tell me they couldn't sell tickets to Calais the last time (possibly for good) I used the P&O offer. Presumably they thought I meant a Eurostar ticket. Southeastern were gently persuaded to sell me one along with a HS supplement.
