I remember going for a drink on Fleet Street on a weeknight a year or so ago and being surprised to find City Thameslink closed at 11pm.
It does seem a bit of a throwback to the days when stations like Cannon Street and Chancery Lane were closed on Sunday, but while much of the City is a bit...
There’s no Thameslink through London Bridge today, Victoria to Lewisham trains seem to be suffering difficulties too.
OP might be better off travelling to Farringdon and getting the Liz Line to Abbey Wood for the SL3 (which drops off close to the station and the Premier Inn in Sidcup).
Thank you for this - the thought came from the earlier threads from when Thameslink started running through Greenwich, there was a theory that it was a raid on ORCATS revenue from Abbey Wood to Farringdon.
I guess this is moot since the cash all goes into the same pot, but does GTR lose what would otherwise be guaranteed income from these cancellations?

Interesting. I’m a little bit surprised none of the Kent operators tried a “fast to Abbey Wood” service to compete with the poor rail service from there to Dartford and beyond.
In addition, because of the way the marathon route is designed, rail is - literally - the only practical way in and out of some neighbourhoods for a few hours while the race is on. Thameslink simply not bothering to play its part is bad enough on the Sunday, it'll be unacceptable on a Saturday...
