I've been hearing these announcements recently on the north Clyde lines and agree with the other posters. Whilst they might be technically better behind the scenes, the quality and clarity of the audio is exceptionally poor - they sound unprofessional and amateurish.
Another way to do this is just buy the period return and pay for the £5 upgrade each way per person on the train.

I have found there is a bit of a lag in Safari on MacOS when first going to the homepage. For a couple of seconds, nothing is clickable until the Cloudflare box appears. Chrome seems OK though.

It looks like they've moved to a PDF model for the digital editions. Which in my view is better, as the app wasn't the best.
