It is not an Oyster Season ticket. It is a Travlecard Season Ticket. The medium on which it is held (Oyster or cardboard) is irrelevant. Unless you have the OEP switched on, in which case switch it off or get manually let through the barriers.

It always used to be the case that Boundary Zone tickets could only be issued from a boundary, not to a boundary.

Oystercards do fail - what would happen if you swiped it then it failed? Passenger refuses to pay or give details because there's no reason why they should, police get called. Then what? Wait for the download and the passenger is proved correct!

But the PDA version is superior to the desktop version, even if it isn't as good as the old one!

Depends what ticket type. The Apex and Superadvance (or whatever they call them these days), you only have to travel on the booked trains if they were bookable. The old NSE trains weren't bookable.

But to the public, a train is a train. They do not know or care about class numbers. All they know is they've got toilets at the moment, but come December they won't.

You should get a paper ticket everytime you swipe your oystercard - what happens if you swipe it then it fails when an inspector tries to read it?

That just puts the blame on the staff. They should have just said they're under no obligation to provide first aid.
