On a couple of occasions now, I've seen the LNWR class 350 Manchester Airport trains (route learning?) displaying 'Special Train' on arrival into Crewe.
So if a train displays a different destination to passengers, do station announcements play the full real destination and mention all the timetabled calling points?
Thanks LowLevel for such an informative reply, I genuinely mean that. Never occurred to me the cancellations could be because of what you described but at least I know now. Thank you.
Can anyone shed any light on Whittlesea station and the EMR morning service please?
I keep a daily check on the EMR app for any changes, cancellations etc. Quite often the 8:16am EMR train is cancelled, like today, due to a fault on the train. However, the cancellation only applies to...
I agree with the above for sure.
I accept that train drivers and onboard staff shouldn't have to work in extreme temperatures.
If certain classes of train are problematic in extreme temperatures then how about a basic bus replacement service instead? Just for the routes with almost no...
As the 158s have been on the Liverpool route since Central Trains days, what happened in hot weather back then? We still had long hot summers in the 1990s and 2000s. Is it now the 158s are decades old and so can't cope or were they like this when new?
With EMR and the Liverpool route disruption, I just don't get why the early morning and late night trains still get terminated early or cancelled.
It's 6:36am currently and trains are being affected by severe weather temperatures, in the summer, yet there's an early morning nip in the air?
Preston sounds so similar to Crewe these days. Both are Avanti managed. Yet Stafford in comparison, reasonably big station, managed by Avanti, doesn't seem as bad.
No chance at all of this working or being able to be enforced.
When I was travelling twice weekly between Sheffield and Stockport or Manchester about 7 years ago, I had plenty of times I've had to stand for the entire journey whilst someone else had my reserved seat.
Train so crowded that...
I'm guilty of wanting to board early. Diagnosed Asperger's and I only prefer certain seats, hence wanting to be onboard quickly. However, if for any the train is not unlocked then I have to accept it. I don't like it, but it doesn't send me into a meltdown.
On the EMR app just now, no mention of any cancelled London trains. It just shows the trains with no accessible toilet in first class.
Regarding the trains that are all 'needing repairs at the same time ' though, are they major/minor repairs? Are there delays in obtaining replacement parts? Is...
When there is/was industrial action like the other Friday on LNWR and WMR, there is a 'strike action ' button present during the delay repay process online. The part where you have to say if your train was delayed, cancelled, missed stop etc.
During the long running RMT strike the other year...
