All these acronyms will become a whole new language shortly! It's walkable, but I'm not sure how the logistics are going to work etc as we're going to be technically travelling to a depot away from home. I'll message you with a guidebook of you fancy which might help (it's a few years out of...
Not entirely sure as the classroom based stuff will be at SPM vice Reading. I believe PTS etc is the first week and can't remember what else as it was a frantic Friday afternoon when I took the call. Will await and see what happens I suppose!
I'm an internal employee at the moment so I won't be joining you on corporate induction, GEM's etc. Yes the course will start, Bank Holidays will no longer exist for you unfortunately!
HSS drivers can opt in to becoming a "GWR Driver" but as with LTV and West they will have the vote on whether to replace their existing local agreements with this blanket one. It's an interesting read, especially with sections (as LTV here) where we are better off than West and then again West...

I wouldn't think it would affect your chances (not that I know 100%. I've done a few assessments with GWR through our internal careers) but you only get 2 chances for both guard / driver roles. So you can do the guards assessment twice and if you failed on the second go that would exclude you...
Hi Tony - no it wouldn't stop you applying for a Conductor / TM role with GWR. You wouldn't be able to apply for a driving role for 6 months but anything else is fine. You cannot, however, apply for a conductor role; turned down for that and then reapply for TM as the assessments are the same...
