Stunning views to a tasty mechanical soundtrack can be had on Stagecoach Yorkshire's Peak Sightseer - particularly the Blue route which does a lot of high-ish speed climbing and falling, with the gruelling climb up Winnats Pass at the very end (which is a proper full throttle 10mph crawl). For a...
It was the other way around; 13 through the campus and 14 down Uni Boulevard. Maroon 13 terminated in Beeston (Dennis Avenue, iirc) and the 14 continued to Chilwell Inham Nook on a half hourly basis. I'm not sure when the 13 went but the 14 soldiered on until March 2014, including some changes...
To be fair all the measurements were duplicated in imperial but I'd only written the metric ones down. I think metric is optional on road signs but usually included?
In fact that reminds me something else I was going to originally ask about.
I know there are some cases where signs showing both...
How accurate is the "overall height" information written in the cabs of buses, and is it the responsibility of the manufacturer or operator to assign it?
The reason I ask is because I've been trying to take note of the height information on as many double deck types as I can find, yet sometimes...
Interesting that the NCT logos displayed on the Hoppers are the new version (same as on 500) while repaints of 276, 277 etc are still using the existing logo. Plus I'm surprised 501 wasn't chosen considering it was already stripped of its branding/logos.
Probably not worth a full repaint when...
Imagine if NCT had six recently displaced, high-capacity diesel buses they could have used for ferrying students, perhaps with the numbers 907 and 925-9! If only they'd hung onto them a little longer, even just temporarily...
Presumably they're looking for 2nd hand diesels or dealer stock...
For a traditionally styled livery that's still in use today, my favourite is Marshalls of Sutton-on-Trent and their cream and two-tone blue.
(my picture)
And for nostalgic reasons the absolutely crazy livery as used by TrentBarton in the early 2000s to promote a travel offer called FRIO...
At one stage I did think the new logo was going to be imminently rolled out across vehicles when it appeared in places like the new travel shop and signage at Parliament Street garage, however the only bus to have gained the new logos so far is 500. Since then the yellow line biogas buses have...
Northern have had a few class 158 multiple units carrying adverts that feature trains/locos, including ones for the National Railway Museum and Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway.
158784 in particular had an advert for 'PTEG' which included a Glasgow Subway train, Tyne & Wear Metrocar, a class 333, a...
Since nobody else has done it yet, I'll be "that guy" and post the final Omnidekka arrival onto Beastmarket Hill at 8:26 this evening, operated by 907 YT61 GOP. The crowd of enthusiasts it drew was quite big. The final outbound journey was shadowed by Tiger European's ex-NCT Omnidekka YN05 WFW...
What's going on with the "map" column on the page which shows you which trips each vehicle worked?
Usually you can view the plotted line on the map for a couple of weeks before it gets deleted and is incredibly useful for seeing specifically where X vehicle was at Y time.
But at the moment I'm...
Perhaps not "high spec" but in 2017 I saw Notts & Derby running an old Plaxton Premiere on a once-a-week free Tesco route. Usually it was a Plaxton Centro, and prior to that, a Northern Counties Paladin. There surely can't have been many examples of a free coach to Tesco!
